They do sometimes run specials on prime too, that's how I got it, it was 30% off I think, so you might just watch it for awhile and see if they do. I'll probably renew myself, part of my reason was that they carry Doctor Who and no one else does right now. So there is that!

Shaunesay A quick poll on if the group would be interested in starting a group read again: Group Read Poll

message 103: by Shaunesay (new)

Shaunesay I am interested in bringing on some assistant moderators, I am currently the only active one, and while maintaining this group has been manageable so far, I want to have some others involved to spread the job to keep things running smoothly.

Moderator duties consist of making sure things are running smoothly in the area you choose, monitoring new posts for content, just to make sure they follow group guidelines for a friendly all ages site, greeting new members as they post in the introduction site, setting up read-a-thon's if you choose that area. etc.

If you are active in the group and plan on being involved long term and are interested in being a moderator, please message me, and include which parts of the group you would be interested in helping with (read-a-thon's, sprints, pick-it-for-me, etc.)

Thanks!

Lieke Hi everyone!
For a school project I am doing research on Blackwell's (a British book retailer) and I need some people who have been there at least once to fill in my questionnaire (who better to turn to than the book community!).
This only takes 2-3 minutes (I swear!) and it would help me out so much :) Would anyone like to fill it in? THANKS!

Elizabeth Booktube athon

Anyone planning to do Booktube A Thon, if you don't know what it its here is the link:
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=emuKvGJ...
&
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2ghLWLX...
And the challenges:
The 2017 Reading Challenges:
1/ Read a book with a person on the cover.
2/ Read a hyped book.
3/ Finish a book in one day.
4/ Read about a character that is very different from you.
5/ Finish a book completely outdoors.
6/ Read a book you bought because of the cover.
7/ Read seven books.
Anyone doing it, I'm going to try and read all 7 books I have picked out.

PamB | 74 comments Elizabeth, the Booktube-a-thon sounds interesting. Perhaps someone can moderate it here for people who only use Goodreads.

message 110: by Shannon (new)

Shannon Beasley I'm participating in the reading challenges (I hope) for the BookTube-A-Thon

Vivian Wolkoff | 169 comments Hi, everyone!
Are the dates for the weekend, weekly, and seasonal readathons for 2018 up somewhere? Will they be posted?
I could have sworn I got a message with the dates for 2017 last year and I was wondering if there would be another one this year. I could be wrong, though.

message 112: by J (new)

J Q (johnniquest) | 1226 comments Hi Vivian, we should have one up soon :D

Sam (sam222) | 70 comments Gezz its been sooooo long since I've been on Goodreads and been apart of any group. 2017 was a really bad year for me with books, I didnt read much at all but this year I'm hoping to get back to reading. I feels so weird being here lol

Karen (karinlib) | 2108 comments Hi Mods,

I am wondering if there is going to be a Fall read-a-thon this year. I haven't seen a new thread for it yet.
Thanks

Elizabeth (aconight) | 1 comments Hey I have a bunch of popular YA series/trilogy/standalone that I never read and no longer have interest in them. Does anyone know where I can sell them besides ebay and amazon?

The app Let Go, a used book store will buy them or give you store credit, Craigslist.

Christine Hatfield (christinesbookshelves) | 1427 comments My reading goal for 2019 on goodreads is going to be 132 books and I’m going to be reading the books that I got for Christmas

message 126: by Erin (new)

Erin I'm thinking of setting my goal lower so I can just read and enjoy it. So I'll probably set my goal at 80.

message 127: by Courtney (new)

Courtney (thelongnamedreader) Will we be getting a new solo bingo challenge for this year? I really enjoyed it last year and would love to get to do it a little more seriously this upcoming year!

Karen (karinlib) | 2108 comments Does anyone know if there will be 24 read-a-thon today? Just wondering. It looks as though there hasn't been one since January?
