Lars (herodotvonhalikarnassos) | 56 comments Hey,
I'm looking for people to read some classical philosophy and history books with. Like many things, philosophy thrives in discourse, and some of the more dauntingly complex concepts and ideas might become less intimidating in the context of a down-to-earth, no-strings-attached conversation. If you are interested in exploring the big mysteries of our universe, pondering (possibly) unanswerable questions, or if you are simply curious about old ideas, this might be your chance. Let me know, if you are interested. I'm pretty open about which philosophy books we could read, bu I also have a list of books I want to read.
Some of the books on my reading list are:
A History of Western Philosophy by Bertrand Russell
Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance An Inquiry Into Values by Robert M. Pirsig
Existentialism and Romantic Love by Skye Cleary
A Treatise of Human Nature by David Hume
Practical Ethics by Peter Singer
Symposion by Plato
Together The Rituals, Pleasures and Politics of Cooperation by Richard Sennett
