I was always fascinated with space exploration movies and stories, not to mention science fiction movies and novels that have imagined possibilities far beyond our current real capabilities. However, shouldn't we start from the beginning, and read about how it all came to be? I've seen only the movie and sat transcended through it the whole three hours. I hope the book will be equally captivating and that the movie will live up to my memories of it.

I saw the movie years ago and read the book just last year or so. As always, there's only so much ground that a film can cover, and the book is FULL of so much more information. It's really very fascinating how all if it came to be.... frankly, with how extra careful we are about everything these days, I don't think we could have accomplished it in this era, which is sad. Life back in the days of less fear of risk!
