I would think slicing the throat would qualify as death by knife.

If this doesn't work then I will look for something else! The new entry will be out of order but it's ok.
See my list in message 17; entry is The Bride.
Leila wrote: "Is a garrote being counted as strangulation or with it being a wire is it slitting the throat?"
I'm so sorry, Leila. I don't know how I missed your question. I found this on Wikipedia: "A garrote is a weapon, most often referring to a handheld ligature of chain, rope, scarf, wire or fishing line used to strangle a person."

I think I will change the rules. Attempted murder as well as successful murders count.

The bad guy was planning to break into a house and intimidate the owners. Because he is hapless, he accidentally sets the place on fire causing several deaths.
I figured those counted as murder because he was committing a crime when he caused the deaths, and I think that counts legally.
Does it work? (the actual mystery in this book involves ghost pigs, so the author didn't care very much)
Beth wrote: "The questions here are delightfully gruesome."
They are :)

Thanks, Lanelle! So I'm done for this go-around and it was fun.

There's no way I'll finish this one. I've just gotten too busy - not reading enough, and not enough deaths of the sort needed to get through. But a very cool challenge nonetheless!

Me too. I guess I don't read books with deaths. Bowing out of this one.

I have always heard that type of death referred to as carbon monoxide poisoning, so I would say that it would be a poisoning.

Weave your way through the maze by reading books. You can plan your path through the maze and then read the books in any order, if you'd like. Or you can meander about and hope you find the way out eventually :)
This is a 6 month challenge.
No page limit. Re-reads are okay.
How to play:
Each square has a number. You must read a book where that method of death or attempted death occurs.
Enter the maze at the center on the bottom of the rectangle. (The first square you'll read will be 4.) Your next move will be to go left, up, or right. Continue through the maze until you exit at the top at one of the three openings. You cannot move diagonally or go through walls.
1 - gun
2 - poison
3 - fire
4 - stabbing
5 - explosives
6 - vehicular
7 - animal/insect/snake
8 - blunt force (beating)
9 - asphyxiation/suffocation/drowning
