It was so nice of Maven to let Mare see her family. I also didn't expect him to be joining Scarlet Guard. He just didn't seem like the type and he is a Silver so that was unexpected.

Kilorn, too. He has changed from the last time I've read him. It was in the first chapters of the book. Cal even seems different to me now. This just proves that almost every character in this book is dynamic and developing, changing (but I wouldn't really say improving).

It nice to see that Mare is harnessing her so-called ability (not power, just like Julian said.) She seems more powerful and not a lot of people would want to cross with her. But not Evangeline. Nooooo. Not her. 😒

Cal is more like a prince than Maven, and Kilorn-he joined too! He wants to save her too.

I was wondering who would be the other person to join the scarlet guard and I knew that that person was going to be important but I didn't think it's be Maven. You'll have fun seeing how they work it out :)
