Lady Rogue
Lady Rogue by Suzanne Enoch

When the dripping wet ragamuffin showed up on his doorstep late one night claiming sanctuary, Alexander Cale had no idea the cheeky lad was actually an enchanting—but infuriating—chit! Suspicious of French-raised Kit Brantley's reasons for coming to London, Alex fears she's a traitor, spying for Napoleon. Yet as he's dragged into one escapade after another, Alex soon finds himself succumbing to her gamine charm and bold spirit—despite her dubious motives and outrageous behavior.

Kit has never seen eyes quite as blue—or as dangerous—as Alex Cale's. The Earl of Everton penetrated her disguise in record time, and now threatens to discover her reason for being in London: to find out who among the English peerage has been foiling her father's smuggling trade in France. As Kit races the clock against dark forces, Alex's devastating masculinity is a distraction she can ill afford—yet cannot resist. But when danger threatens both their lives, only love can save them.

Shannon | 348 comments This will be my first Suzanne Enoch. Excited to try out something new.

Mariana | 2692 comments I have only read one book by this author, and I enjoyed it. I am certainly excited about this one as well.

message 4: by Missy (new)

Missy | 1482 comments My first time too. Many of her books have been on my TBR list for a long time now. This book wasn’t one of them but I’ve gotta start somewhere.

Lorien | 427 comments I read this a while ago, I remember liking it okay.

Mariana | 2692 comments I picked this up from the library today, but I want to finish reading my other paperback before I begin. I'm thinking sometime this weekend. When do others plan to start reading?

message 7: by Uvi (new) - rated it 5 stars

Uvi I love this author. Excited to read this one.

Paige | 14 comments I plan to start next week. First time reading from this author.

Mariana | 2692 comments Okay, I absolutely could not read any more of my other paperback tonight. I am going to go ahead and start reading this one tonight.

message 10: by Uvi (new) - rated it 5 stars

Uvi I am on chapter 2. So far I’m enjoying it. The heroine has spunk ;)

Mariana | 2692 comments Yeah, chapter one was not typical; and I agree that the heroine has spunk.

Priya (priyachennareddy) | 1544 comments I am behind in my reading and have a lot of catching up to do. So, I am skipping this group read:(

Mariana | 2692 comments I read chapter two this morning. I appreciate the fact that Alexander Cale, the Earl of Everton, immediately recognized "Kit" as a female.

I’m in the same boat. Starting tonight

Mariana | 2692 comments I completed through chapter 4 today.

Uvi I am chapter 18. Love the banter between H&h and you can definitely feel the chemistry between them. It doesn’t seem forced and thank God there is no insta love here. I really like this couple.

message 17: by Uvi (new) - rated it 5 stars

Uvi All done. Loved the book. Thanks to whoever nominated it, because it was a joy to read.

Mariana | 2692 comments Wow! All done already? That speaks well. I have not read anymore yet. Plan to resume tomorrow or over the weekend.

Debby *BabyDee* | 812 comments Just finished last night and wow is all I can say. Love Suzanne Enoch and have been a fan of her works. I really loved the book and also the H&h in the story.

I agree with Uvi...the banter between the two MC and chemistry is paced well. Glad to not see the spot on attraction and quick love early on in the story.

Uvi So I am binging on Suzanne Enoch this week and finished another one of her books today which she published in the 90’s. I didn’t like it as much as her newer books. Her writing has definitely gotten better with the years IMHO. The Lessons In Love series was also good (I think she published those in the 2000’s).

Paige | 14 comments I enjoyed this month's read so much. The H&h are great together. They both have an unconventional sense of humor that leads to awesome dialogue. Their drinking game in chapter 7 was loads of fun. I also like many of the side characters like Reg, Gerald, and Ivy. All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable read . I need to read more from this author.

Mariana | 2692 comments I actually resumed reading today - through chapter 6.

Anyone else in progress but not yet complete?

Ditto..the drinking was humorous. I liked very much.

Mariana | 2692 comments I just read chapter 7, so now I can relate. This is the most intriguing chapter thus far.

Shannon | 348 comments I haven't even started!!! I have a book club book I have to read by Thursday. It's audio, so when I'm done with that I'll start on this. Not reading comments yet. But I so want to get back in the swing of reading. I've been a bit slow the last two months.

Onward and upward!

Quite a few days left in the month. I think there are others who may not have started yet either.

message 27: by Missy (new)

Missy | 1482 comments The book is not available at my library. :( Needless to say, I won't be joining in this BOTM.

Mariana | 2692 comments I just finished. The last half of the book went much faster than the first half.

message 29: by Peaktopeak (new)

Peaktopeak | 34 comments I finally finished this. I liked it ok. I think it will be worth looking for another by this author. I enjoyed the first half but the second half kind of drug for me. After Christine started wanting dresses and such I felt she kind of lost her way as a character. And so many secrets to reveal! Just got to be too much for me. But I did really enjoy the beginning and maybe I will look up the "Lessons in Love" series. Glad I was able to join in this month!

message 30: by Tammy (new)

Tammy | 127 comments I’m ridiculously behind, currently on Chapter 7. It’s just okay for me so far. Based on what I’ve read I wouldn’t try this author again

Tammy | 127 comments Glad everyone else enjoyed it :)

I have to agree with you. I liked the first half.

For me the mistaken for a boy trope lasted way too long. It was cute at first. I can overlook the unbelievable in romances because....well, they're romances and that's why I read them, but her appearing as a young man over and over again to his friends and parties...just got to be a little much for me. I did like the writing and I'd read another by Suzanne Enoch. It was a likable.
