Top Three Books It Seems Everybody But You Has Read
Let’s see...
The Lord of the Rings 🤦🏽♀️
East of Eden
And ...up until yesterday I could have said anything by Brandon Sanderson.

Kingkiller Chronicles
Game of Thrones
I dunno about #3... I read too much to know what I'm missing... seeing 500,000 ratings for Rothfuss rattled loose GRRM...

I guess I could say Sarah J Maas... I've been on the fence so many times about trying them, since I generally like fairytale re-tellings... but there are so many polarized reviews that scare me away...

Don Quixote
Anything by HP Lovecraft"
I'm reading The Necronomicon Loveraft collection at the moment.
Seriously heavy going but amazingly creepy!

Ditto. I even have book 1 and I'm still scared to start it.
COTAR was a DNF for me. I have a hard time with Maas' writing - too much erratic decision making by the characters. I can never follow the thought process. It drives me nuts.

That's probably something that would annoy me. But I still feel like I need to read it since everyone I know has :-/
I had a difficult time coming up with titles for this list. It seems like I've dabbled in just about every popular author I was interested in. Even so, there's one obvious one: Malazan.
My other would maybe be Tad Williams.
I'm probably overthinking this.

I went into it already annoyed from Throne of Glass books, so perhaps a fresh venture in could be the difference maker? :) There were a bunch of things I really loved about the book. The beginning was killer. Maybe I'll revisit eventually.

Same... I've jumped on so many Buddy Reads in the past 6 months, that I've hit so many highlights... or am about to...
Here's a useful Listopia list I just found: https://www.goodreads.com/list/show/4...

That's a helpful list. The only one I see that I haven't read yet that I have interest in is Dune... although I should've just taken inspiration from our thread Haha.

The Way of Kings
I can't really think of anything else that I would want to read that everyone else has read.

You could still join us for the Memory, Sorrow and Thorn series :)

Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke
Riftwar by Raymond E. Feist
The Curse of the Mistwraith by Janny Wurts
Planning to start them all over the summer.

That would be great! :) I haven't finished yet, but I really like it so far and would totally recommend it

Malazen (attempted but wasn't the right time)
Witcher series
@Niki What the hell are you waiting for?????? READ IT :) :) :) :)

I know I could always count on you when it comes to the Dragonbone Chair :D

Bastard Gentlemen
An original Shakespeare's (Didn't have an original one in my syllabus ever. I have read only the abridged ones.)

Harry Potter
Lord of the rings ...
I know ! I am the worst case .. like who doesn’t read Harry Potter ? But for now I am only planning on malazan and in future m..."
I get what you mean about Harry Potter! If you hadn't read it before the movies, the motivation must be hard to find. I'm not a fan of starting a book knowing exactly how it will go.

The Name of the Wind
Throne of Glass - or any Sarah J Maas
The Hunger Games
And technically The Way of Kings as I've just started. :)

2. Book of the Ancestor...altho' any frontrunning series would count. There's so much I haven't read in fantasy that I could just keep listing.
And for 3. I'll say Riyria since I'm rebooting it from next month, and have only read one book outta the lot so far....
Haven't read Strange and Norrell either...nor any Sarah J Mass....
Non-fantasy edition
1. One hundred years in Solitude. I swear, I swear the number of times I have started this EVIL book #booknemesis and just can't finish...and i can't even blame the genre or the texture of the writing because I'm doing the same with *yerk* Eat, Pray, Love.
2. Anna Karenina. But I will this year #promise
3. Wolf Hall and BUtB

Can't be too far, I'm only 150 pages in! 😂
That's cool, Zaara. No rush really, I'm only joking :)

Bcuz cheers hunnyluvduckstoots....you'z talking to the geniass who started both Malazan and Stormlight the same year 😃

Yep you've certainly put a lot on your plate! But I bet you can make it work xD
I ideally need to finish before Best Served Cold. That gives me about 12 days?! I'd better up my pages per day a little!

You know your annoyed when your phone can take better pictures than your camera...... I need to get back into photography this summer

I stared at this picture for a while and it doesn't make sense to me... If these are the bookspines of Memorry, Sorrow and Thorn, shouldn't there be pages on the right side and not your room??? What magic are you working Adham? :O
And a friend of mine has the same LotR edition :) It's very beautiful, but also a pain in the ass reading it, because the letters are quite small...
