Great idea Space. I never quite understood the rounds anyway!
Hmmm..not a bad idea..i 'spose when we were on Zon, there were many more participants, so it was necessary to give everyone their turn as it were....but seeing as there are fewer 'players' now..mibbe it is time to ditch the 'rounds' set up. Plenty of interest then for Gregory Isaacs and a close run race but we have a clear winner.Atop the podium this evening, Tim, with his nom Babylon Too Rough. In second place, with the one about the dodgy drugs, Brass Neck with Night Nurse. And completing our trio of medal winners, Sussex Welsh, with Word Of The Farmer.
Glad to see some participation in this one, let's hope that rolls on to the next round. As for me, meh, it's reggae, it all sounds the same.

well done the winners! very nice cross section of many classics - as i say, his legacy diluted somewhat by the volume of recordings he made ("what? dennis brown's making an album this morning? well, i'm making one too!" :)) and the sad decline of his talent (and teeth) due to excessive consumption of.......ahem,........'night nurse'?
the 'herb' wunt enough for greg'ry, unfortunately! 'night nurse' was the big attempt for a breakthrough album, and despite being a very strong record, just didn't propel him onto the world stage on a par with the likes of bob marley.
I quite like night nurse..it one of few I do know of Issac's and have heard before.Never ceases to amaze, just how many musicians and for that matter, how much of the illegal stuff was consumed by so many..and yet many are still here. Fleetwood Mac infamous consumption should've finished them all off decades ago...but they're all alive and singing! :)

Sounds like he was making albums just to get enough money to pay his dealer. :-( Sad end to a great talent.

Nah! Those guys were limited to the stuff that Keith Richards didn't get his hands on first! So long as the dealer and the potency remained stable I guess most could handle it. Jim Morrison's death, so I read, was because his usual Parisian dealer had been arrested; someone pointed him towards another guy, but the smack he obtained was much purer than his regular supplier, and that's what got him.

Looks like he has hunners and hunners of records to pick from, so let's hear it for Tech's nom, Gregory Isaacs.
Noms as ever close at 10 pm on Sunday, any squabbles, we'll leave it to tech to officiate.
Very nearly out of noms now for future rounds of this game, 3 to go after this, so it could be the end of the road unless we get an influx of suggestions. It will be a shame to see it go after all this time, but maybe we have run out of ideas, maybe we need to try something new?
