It’s 4:00 a.m. when they come for me. I am already awake, strung out on the fear that they will come, and the fear that they won’t. When I finally hear the click of the latch on the dormitory door, I have only a second to brace myself before—
At Cate's isolated boarding school, Killer is more than a game—it’s an elite secret society. Members must avoid being “Killed” during a series of thrilling pranks, and only the Game Master knows who the “Killer” is. When Cate’s finally invited to join the Assassins’ Guild, she know it’s her ticket to finally feeling like she belongs.
But when the game becomes all too real, the school threatens to shut it down. Cate will do anything to keep playing and save the Guild. But can she find the real assassin before she’s the next target?
(view spoiler)[It felt like the story has dragged on for a long time without action so I'm glad something finally happened here. I wonder how that "kill" for Becky has been pulled off because timing definitely played a big part. Looking forward to the others are going to get killed! (hide spoiler)]
1-3 (view spoiler)[ So I love the idea of the game. They're also super isolated at this school. So far not a lot has happened. Just a lot of set up for the story to unfold. Character development and setting stuff. Hope that the real action starts soon. (hide spoiler)]
(view spoiler)[ yeah, I agree that the beginning was kind of slow. Anxious for things to really start moving. It wasn't bad, but I was anxious for action. (hide spoiler)]
End of 15 (view spoiler)[ okay so the game is getting pretty fun. I am trying to guess who the killer is and who the screen names belong to, but I'm not sure about anything yet. Kinda feel like Martin was acting like the killer, but I don't think it's him. The game is a little creepy, but mostly just fun. (hide spoiler)]
End of 22 (view spoiler)[ okay wow now the game has turned sinister. This is so exciting. So confused if Daniel is the killer who did the red paint or if he's the one actually trying to kill people? (hide spoiler)]
(view spoiler)[It was predictable that Cate would get the bracelet. The Crypt made the game more exciting! But skulk gives me the creeps. He/she sounds like a real stalker instead of being a part of a game. (hide spoiler)]

(view spoiler)[There was a point in the story that I thought it was either Daniel or Mr. Flynn who was trying to mess up the game by hurting people. But as the story progressed, I had my doubts. Buuuuy Vaughan is really weird because he just disappeared and that he wasn't being truthful on why he moved schools. (hide spoiler)]
(view spoiler)[What made me read through was finding out who the killer was. After learning who it was or the reason why, I was disappointed. :( I had hoped for better action, more about the game, but that unfortunately turned out to be only a small part of the book. Love the cover though and wished I felt the same for the story! (hide spoiler)]
(view spoiler)[ Me too, I think it could have been done better. Daniel would have made a better killer but they had him as the red herring. (hide spoiler)]
