Regardless, I thoroughly enjoyed the movie. My friend and I totally geeked out over all of the 80's references, and i just had a smile on my face the whole time.

Hopefully I can get around to seeing this movie, Avengers and the Han Solo movie.

I didn’t care that there were story changes because they weren’t gratuitous- translating the story into a 2 hour screen production took some doing. The spirit was right, the characters were right (Mark Rylance, yay!) and it was a whole roller coaster ride of fun.

Interesting... I was looking forward to it, but now I'm unsure.

Ditto

I also LOVED the nod to Excalibur, which probably a lot of people didn't "get" and I'm sure there were a number of Easter Eggs I didn't catch.

I don't want to give spoilers, but I enjoyed the movie as a COMPLETELY SEPARATE ENTITY from the book. But honestly- the movie was SSSSSOOOO DIFFERENT. The challenges were different, the key/gate system was different, when the characters are revealed, how they meet, it seemed as EVERYTHING was changed to "better fit the screen".
Anyone else dared to see the movie?
