This is an incredible story. I can't say too much without spoiling anything but... I was so glad I read it.

Awaken by Katie Kacvinsky it's the first part of a serie. And could it be that the books read topic isn't up to date? (Or am I to stupid for the forum? D:)

I LOVED The Summoner series by Taran Matharu. Either that or The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
