David Staats I have enjoyed this book for years. One thing I have discovered is that it is almost impossible to find an unabridged translation. Apparently Dumas was paid by the word, so he wrote and wrote and wrote. I have compared several English editions, and they're all different, depending on how much of the original each translation left out.

Huh. That's interesting. (I also loved this book.)

Kelly | 199 comments That explains so, so much. I finished the month read, so I just figured I'd pick up a classic and read it to add to my total reads for the year. Little did I know that this book is so incredibly long. Instead of increasing the number of reads for the year, I think this one is going to reduce it. LOL only 8% in, so this is going to take a good long time. it's a good book so far, but oof.....
