Joanna Loves Reading (joannalovesreading) Hi all! Starting up the monthly discussions for November 2018 book-of-the-month suggestions. This discussion is for the CLASSICS CATEGORY.

Books that qualify for this category:
1. Must have a publication date 1969 or before. For newer books, please make your suggestion on the Modern Classic/Popular Reads thread.
2. Have not been previously ready by this group. Previously read books can be nominated in the Bookshelf Catchup thread. See the groups bookshelf for previously read book.
3. Be reasonably well-read to fit the "Everyone Has Read This but Me" claim. Use the number of ratings as a guideline with more than 50,000 ratings as a rule of thumb.

Not a hard and fast rule, but please try to limit your nominations to one book per category. But please do second any that interest you! The number of seconds determine poll inclusion

Nominations end Midnight PDT September 19.

Joanna Loves Reading (joannalovesreading) Allison wrote: "The Diary of Anne Frank by Anne Frank"

Hi Allison, This one was read already in this group, and it was too recently to qualify for the bookshelf catch-up category. You’re welcome to nominate a different book. Thanks!

Marcos Kopschitz | 1766 comments Allison wrote: "The Diary of Anne Frank by Anne Frank"

Allison, "The Diary of Anne Frank" has already been read by the group, so it is not eligible.

It could be nominated in the "Bookshelf catch up" thread.

Especially the more recent members, please have a look at the Group Bookshelf before nominating. The link is on the top right hand corner of the page, just above the "Discussions" link - in the desktop browser version of the site.

Marcos Kopschitz | 1766 comments :-)
Having two mods is like that!

I listed the non eligible books in the "Bookshelf Catch up" thread, based on the rule of not repeating any book reread in the last 12 months.

But let's stick to Joanna's guidance.

message 49: by Joanna (new)

Joanna | 48 comments I second Lady Chatterley’s Lover.

message 50: by Kyra (new)

Kyra Keeton | 279 comments I'll also second On the Road.
