Hello, I'm new at the authors program so I'm sorry if this has been asked before: I got two ratings on my newsfeed for my book today, and even though the stats show the stars, it still says 0 ratings. Is that a glitch or is it normal? Are these ratings valid?

I wish I knew, Sam (Samantha) but I don't rely too much on Goodreads. I prefer a site where I can post the covers of my eight e-books.

It could simply be a glitch or the way the GoodReads database is structured. I've noticed various numbers in GR take a while to catch up with each other. For example, when I see changes in the "To read" numbers on my books, it can take a day or so for the "On to-read shelf" number in my stats to catch up. I've always reckoned that what is shown on the screen is drawn from several distinct databases, rather than all drawing on the same source data, and it takes a while for changes in one to get reflected in another.

Give it a day or two and see if it changes.

Hi Sam, I checked your page and the data seems to appear correctly now. That is, the two ratings appear now — this was a caching delay. The site works on a caching system so, depending on server workload at any given time, sometimes it can take a while for data to update and match across the site. This delay can be expected across the Goodreads website. We continue to work on reducing these delays as much as we can.
