I didn't see a thread in this group dedicated to recommended freebies, so I thought I'd start one. Please limit your posts to books you've read and would recommend for other SFR fans!

In the notice for book seven coming out for her Gaian Consortium series, Christine Pope bundled the first three books in a freebie offering on Amazon and other outlets. I have read and enjoyed all three.

This book by Ruby Lionsdrake was a four star read for me. Mature hero. Freebie on Amazon.

I need to check my shelves. I've had some great freebie SFR reads, but they may not be free, now.

Do we want to limit this thread to the truly free or include the pseudo-freebies on KU? I don't have KU, so they aren't free for me.

I think that’s why we haven’t done this thread before — many of us do not use KU so these are not free! I’d prefer to not include KU and only post about true freebies, but a caveat that books do not always stay free for very long.

I agree that KU is not free. I am a paying subscriber. I believe this thread should be limited to ebooks sold for $0.00. So if you see the post for a freebie, hop on it quick because tomorrow it might be back to regular pricing!

I will defer to KJ on this, but I would leave it. It opened the conversation and we should leave the posts so when others come along they know the parameters.

There is a way to get to best selling Kindle books that are free on Amazon. Its a bit tricky, the best way I have found is to click on a popular book, scroll down to its listing in sales by category, click where it lists its sales number in kindle, romance, science fiction. Then, the link will take you to best 100 sellers for pay and for free. Here is a link if it works:

Star Nomad book 1 by Buroker: one of my favorites!

Virgin Beast Mate: the concept is interesting, the author's books tend to be a bit strange, but the series is very popular. I've read a few and bit left with the feeling: "well, that was an odd book, but I kinda liked it!"

Cynthia Sax has a few cyborg books for free. I read Releasing Rage and did not love it, but her series is popular and I have loved other books of hers.

I've read both series all the way through and enjoyed them, especially the BattleBorn one (Crusader) with it's focus on a marginalized class of warriors and their efforts to find human psychics to bond with which has the bonus of activating the latent magical/psychic abilities in the warrior's genetics. The lack of which is why the elite have made them second class citizens.

Who doesn't love a good slave rebellion? Well, maybe not slaves, it's more that they are the grunts or soldier class....but "the rise of the working-class" doesn't really sound as impressive, does it?

Thanks everyone. My tbr list just got longer.
In addition to Amazon Top 100 Free lists I often check Author Page when getting a book. I checked S.E. Smith's Author Page when I got Survivor Skills and there are three more free books listed. I happen to already have them but still worth the little time it takes to check. Sort By: Price: Low to High to look for free books on Author Page.
