Linda of course you can join in! You're very welcome:) But I notice the book you've chosen for #2, New Release, isn't an Aussie author? At least from what I read about the author, it seems he's UK all the way... Excellent choices for the rest:)

message 267: by Renee V (new)

Renee V | 236 comments Finished my first Wattle book Blood on the Wattle (3rd for the challenge). A book about the massacres of the Aborigines. If you are going to read this I advise breaking it up over a few days. Next on my reading list is The Enchanted (not a spring read just a library book) and my other 'wattle' book Silver Wattle Both I think very far genre wise from Blood on the Wattle

In some ways as it is pretty disheartening stuff, but it was more the writing style that I found I needed to break up a bit as too much at once and I found my brain going into fuzzy skim read mode which isn't good especially for something like this... but then again that could just have been me as it's been awhile since I have read non-fiction history my brain could just be used to easy to read novels!

Ah but it's the only wattle book I have to hand and only a week before I go overseas. I am a bit OCD about challenges:) Once committed I will grit my teeth and persevere.

If you could reserve the second one at your library it's a very quick (32 pages) children's book:)
