Just completed #1 (set in woods) - Beartown by Fredrik Backman. I did not expect that the author of the charming Ove could pen such a brilliant, unequivocal, scathing rebuke of patriarchal society. And yet, he delivers it with charm and love for his setting and characters. Truly brilliant! Definitely worth reading! 5 stars

I briefly wondered if I could include Down and Out in Paris and London, because 60% of it takes place in a hotel. But I realized that it's a memoir, not a novel. Never fear, I have another book for the hotel prompt! :-)

Just completed #13 (snow land) - The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn. Overall, this was an entertaining, well-paced thriller. I particularly enjoyed the constant old suspense film references. I figured out all of the twists well before they happened, but it didn't stop me from enjoying the read. Worth reading! 4 stars
