You can re-enter KU anytime but need to make sure it's not available anywhere else when you do. Otherwise, they might bug the hell out of you for it.

When I first started I was with KU (exclusively), then I went wide with Pronoun (who folded about 3 months later), then shifted to Draft2Digital.
I then went back to Amazon KU (exclusive) because I wanted to try AMS advertising and I wanted the KU sales as well.
Just make sure you keep your books on Amazon during the process so that you can easily go back if you want to.

As for your question, as far as I know despite my lack of experience with KU, we can put our books there as long as no copy is sold anywhere else. I’m not sure if it’s worth it because only half of ebooks are sold on Amazon (which means you get your books out of 50% of readers), but again I’m not the author with the most experience here.

For me it's worth it. Over half my royalties come from KENP.

Deciding whether or not to take part in KU is probably enough for a topic of its own, I'll just point out that it might differ much by genre.

You're right. And it does come up a lot.
I believe this is the latest thread if anyone is interested.

My book is currently in KU. It re-enrolled last December. Still two months left of the contract.
If I put it on Booksprout now, I'd be breaking the contract if I'm found out.
Now, if they do find out that I did break the contract and the book is taken out of KU, can I enroll it later again if I take it out of Booksprout? Or would there be a problem?

It's a service that allows you to send ARCs and books for free to potential reviewers. They give a Bestselling Author account (like a premium service) for a month with unlimited use for free when you first subscribe, so I thought I could not only put my next story but also my first novel for now.

I'd suggest you rather wait out the first 3-month KU period, then take the Booksprout trial. It's the safest way. What would happen would probably depend on how Amazon sees the service - if it's explicitly ARCs only, then the result might be different than if the service does full wide distribution along with ARCs (which would be a severe breach of KU and could probably lead to very bad things if someone had a bad day).

Hi Marc, it's more like 75% of the market.
When I was wide with Pronoun and Draft2Digital through to Nook, Kobo, Google, etc I had almost exactly the same proportion of sales. (i.e 75% with Amazon)
Like Dwayne above, a good share of my sales/royalties is coming from KNEP.
