While I'll admit the second part dragged- I LOVED the first half of LOS because of how witty the h was. She's my favorite heroine of any book I've read.

So maybe I have a bunch of authors who are one-and-disappointments
For instance, I loved Devil in Winter by Kleypas and have yet to find another of hers that I love so much (but I've only read 6 other Kleypas books).
As for Chase, I loved LofS and also was not disappointed with The Last Hellion. But a few others of hers have been real stinkers for me.
Recently I read Duke of Shadows by Duran. I loved it. Looking forward to more Durans but I'm afraid I'll be disappointed. Kind of beginning to wonder if romance writers that I like have only one really good book in them (going by what I like in a romance novel of course). Though I've almost never been disappointed with a McNaught

"Once and Always" and "Whitney,My Love" by McNaught are my all time favourite books, and i have loved her other books too. I have read 20 books by Lisa Kleypas, and i adore ALL of them.I have read "Lord of Scoundrels" and "Captives of the Night" by Loretta Chase and i LOVE those two, must be the way Chase enlighted the angst in the characters and in the name of love.
I love all of Shirlee Busbees books, some more than the others, like "Desecive not my Heart"...Meagan McKinney`s "When Angels Fall" i thought slightly overrated, but i still gave it 5 stars cuz of the way it was written, and thats the only book i have read by her.
Books mentioned in this topic
Captives of the Night (other topics)Miss Wonderful (other topics)
Viscount Vagabond (other topics)
Lord of Scoundrels (other topics)
For me this would be none other than Loretta Chase and her great book Lord of Scoundrels
I've yet to be able to finish any of her other books...which is really disappointing considering how much I loved that book. Maybe expectations get set too high? I've given it a go several times, but alas....I don't like anything else she's written.
