Welcome to 2019!

We have another great year of titles and discussion topics in store for you! My name is Marcella and I will be leading the discussion this month.

Our title for January may seem like a bit of an odd choice considering many people tend to look at a new year as the chance to try new challenges and discover new opportunities. And here we are, letting you know that failure is very likely imminent in some aspect of your life!

Author Chris Gethard, however, makes the case that striking out might just be the key to a healthier, happier and more successful life with you living free of regret. And isn't that what we're all looking for in life?

You can find print and audiobook versions of this title here: https://bit.ly/2SE6eG9

Join in the discussion this month as Chris reflects on his own failures and demonstrates how failing with grace can actually lead to many opportunities!

Heidi Madden | 118 comments So, I initially thought this was a weight loss book which would have been fine but I’m glad to hear it’s so much more. I have never heard of Chris even though he seems to be at least somewhat famous. I’m about 50 pages in and I’m enjoying the book so far. It’s entertaining but insightful. Sort of an expansion and actual plan towards the old adage “what would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail.” He seems to be turning around to “what would you do even if you do fail.” As always I’m looking forward to the discussion!

Thank you for your comments Heidi!

Yes - the title of the book seems to be a bit of a misnomer but when you get into the commentary it does make more sense. I guess "Being a loser but doing it well" didn't fly with the editors... ;)

I'm looking forward to the discussion as well since this is an issue all of us have experienced at one time or another!
