At 33% it is entertaining, although not quite as amazing as I was hoping based on everyone else's reviews. The writing style isn't totally captivating, but it's holding my attention enough to get my out of the slump I was in.



Yeah, this was my feeling as well, when I re-read the first book last year. Been too long without the boys. ;)

The story wraps up in Stalking Darkness, so if you do plan on reading more after book 1, it might be a good idea to read the first two books pretty close together. Book 3 wraps up nicely, as do books 6 and 7, but 4-5 are another set that should maybe be read together.



(It's like when someone mentions Murderbot, one *must* reply with <3 or "I love Murderbot!" The same is true for Seregil and Alec.)

Somehow I always assumed Seregil and Alec were of same age / social standing, so, this master and orphaned boy trope came unexpected.
