Me personally it's easier to read when it's warmer like the summer and of course the spring rather than the other, because when it;'s cod I have to constantly move around with cover to feel warm since I am constantly moving my hands. But in the summer I don't have to keep moving around so I'm able to focus on my book.

Icewineanne | 114 comments Tend to lose my focus in the sun & enjoy the scenery instead. Definitely enjoy curling up with a great book, warm blanket & a drink when it snows outside.

May (mayzie) | 589 comments I agree Icewineanne. I would just add “in front of a fire”!!. However, I have been known to be engrossed by a good book while on a sunny beach!!

Bhaskar Sompalli (goodreadscomsompalli) | 1 comments Definitely cold for me; I get more reading done in the cold. When it's wet and raining/snowing outside, the tomes come out and I enjoy debating existential issues.

The thing about summer reading is that there is a nagging feeling I have when reading, that I am missing out on all the fun in the sun. I find that I tell myself "I should be out running" or asking myself "how about a hike ?" Very distracting.

May (mayzie) | 589 comments Quick solution... take your book or Kindle out into the sun!!!

Lorrea - WhatChaReadin'? (whatchatreadin) When it's hot! When it's cold, I find it difficult to be snug under my blanket to stay warm and read at the same time.

Annawright | 2 comments I love to enjoy my books on the beach there’s plenty of rooms and it’s still quiet

Maggie the Muskoka Library Mouse (mcurry1990) I prefer to be cold rather than hot. I can always layer up in blankets, sweaters, and cozy socks, but I can't get cool as easily when it's plus 25!

message 9: by Kirsten (new)

Kirsten (kmcripn) Cold - you can always bulk up. But if you're really hot - it's just too uncomfortable.

message 10: by Sandra (new)

Sandra Beck | 55 comments I can read any time and any where. I always come or go prepared. I love reading. Easier to carry a soft, paper or hard back. I love Goodreads for the fact you can win and review.

message 11: by Tati (new)

Tati I do not have a preference!! If the book is good I will read anywhere. Just like Dr. Seuss' Green Eggs and Ham, I can read in a car or train, here or there, cold or hot, I can read anywhere! Lol

May (mayzie) | 589 comments Love it!! Thank you for the best smile of the day!!

Pixel Rainbow (pixelrainbow) I love to read when I’m warm. My favorite place to read is laying in my yard in the sunshine. When I’m hot I just bring a water and the warmth allows my entire body to relax and the sunshine feels like a comforting blanket. ☀️ 📖

Mystic Orange (Rumell) (rkrespectedmember) Cold is easier. It is not easy concentrating when you are frying like an egg. But in general I can read anywhere and it doesn't bother me when I have a good book. Nothing can stop me from reading. Lol.

Sandra Beck | 55 comments Makes no difference to me.I aways go prepared.

That is good.

K8 Griffiths (katemarie7griffithsgmailcom) I like to read when I am out and about and my creative juices are flowing. It could be a cafe or on a walk somewhere.
The seasons impact me hugely. Are the leaves are in the trees? What’s the weather? Is it busy where I am or quiet?
I don’t like reading at home because I become more unfocused and get into my head about the list of things I’ve got to do that day other than read/ write. I am the same when I write. It has to be outdoors or in public.

John (kingslayer1983) | 8 comments Definitely warm. My favorite place to read is sitting on the beach.

message 19: by Walleye23 (last edited Jan 01, 2020 10:53PM) (new)

Walleye23 Favorites: Sitting on my patio, under the umbrella, about 85 degrees, light breeze, rocking in a patio chair, sipping a glass of sparkling water or ice tea. I love to see the blue sky through the green leaves. In my rocker in the living room, in front of the fire, sipping hot tea, all cozy in a big sweater with my cat Squawky.

I do agree with others, I am always prepared and will read anytime, anywhere!!!

message 20: by Cheres (new)

Cheres (onespicy_panda) I enjoy both

message 21: by Serra (new)

Serra | 1 comments I enjoy reading my book on my bed with my warm blanket and a cup of hot coffee. I mostly enjoy reading in a warm place.

message 22: by Cismas (new)

Cismas Carmen | 2 comments I enjoy reading both:
1. during heat, at the beach
2. during winter, in my home, on my couch with the sun going in trough the windows

Diann Lewis-Charles | 1 comments Hello everyone! My name is Diann Lewis-Charles (Love Is A Kiss In The Palm) and I am an author, lover of life, love and nature.
Walleye23's was perfect. I, too love sitting back enjoying hot tea in winter time and cold tea or another beverage in the summer/spring reading a wonderfully delightful book while enjoying the beauty of nature. It's a habit I began as youth, my Dad indulged me with a swing hanging from the most lush and shade friendly tree. I, so enjoyed swinging and reading books from the library on my weekends from school while enjoying ice cold Country Time lemonade.

message 24: by Casey (new)

Casey Dells | 1 comments A politician’s answer? Both. I love when it’s cold and I can snuggle up with a cozy blanket, some coffee, and a good book. Likewise, I also love to feel the warms rays of sunshine and the salty ocean breeze while I dig into an eye-opening/thought provoking story.

Monica Furtado | 1 comments I am like Goldielocks. It can not be too hot, and it can not be too cold. It has to be just right.

message 27: by Melisa (new)

Melisa I prefer hot, not cold. I get cold easily and I'll just be thinking how cold I am the entire time.
