Em__Jay | 500 comments As part of a reading challenge, I need to find a book authored by a musician. It does not have to be autobiographical, the just need to have authored it.

I would like to choose an Aussie musician/author but I don't typically read such books so I am clueless. Any suggestions?

Kim (kimborams) | 1574 comments How about The Death of Bunny Munro by Nick Cave - he was lead singer (and founder, I think) of the Australian act, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds?

Sarah | 47 comments I don't know why I missed the post earlier about Working Class Man - wouldn't have bothered linking it if I'd realised it was already mentioned.

Carolyn | 9848 comments I recently read River of Salt by Dave Warner (he's from W.A). He was in a punk bank in the 70s and then had some hits with his own band, Dave Warner from the Suburbs. That title isn't out until 1st April but he's written quite a few other popular novels.

I've got an ARC but I haven't read it yet. It's serendipity.

Brilliant!
The MC has his own band so there are quite a lot of references to music. Should work well!

:)

message 19: by Stella (new)

Stella Budrikis | 34 comments If you like biographies, 'Women of Note' by Australian author Rosalind Appleby might fit the bill. It's about Australian female composers. The author is a music journalist and critic.
