Read a book published during Iris Murdoch's lifetime (1919-1999).

One of my goals is to read those books that I have previously planned to read for RwS 15 old challenges. Many of them fit this task. (I apparently read old books!) So far 6 listed.

I know non-fiction qualifies since the task says "book" but how do you want to handle collections for this task? For example, do all the short stories in a collection need to have been published in the tine frame given? Or could some have been earlier as long as the collection was published in the time frame?

We use the GR original published date. For short stories, that is the date of the most recently published story, assuming they were published individually. That means in your example that a collection will probably work, but be sure there isn't a story that is a 21st Century outlier.

If the GR entry isn't clear about the original published date, feel free to ask and I'll do my best to investigate.
