Jim (jimmaclachlan) They're great books. I've read the first 3 now as audiobooks. Short, but really interesting.

Ken (ogi8745) | 1432 comments The reason for the post was I beleive we had a discussion about the first book and most people were unhappy about the price point of the rest of the novellas.

Jim (jimmaclachlan) I got them as audiobooks from the library, so I have no idea what they cost. As novellas, they shouldn't be too expensive as ebooks.Artificial Condition (book #2) is $2.99 on Amazon as an ebook, about $11 for HB new or used. That seems reasonable to me.

Exit Strategy is about $10 for either ebook or HB, though. Seems really high for the ebook, cheap for an HB. I wouldn't buy it at that price. I can understand their pain.

I'm going to continue to wait until either the library has them or they price them reasonably. These high initial prices are ridiculous, but most publishers seem to do it. I've been told it has something to do with how they figure if a book makes money or not. They don't count continuing sales, just the initial ones. Weird, but one of them justified high ebook costs at one point because "It costs a lot to store them." Right. I've got a bridge to sell you...

Ken (ogi8745) | 1432 comments At Kobo, as ebooks they are 10.99. I have been watching the price for sometime. Which I feel is sort of pricey. Yeah they are echoing the standard this is a hardback version, of a Novella. Not a full book.
I think the price point of the physical book is 20.99.
The Kindle price, I suspect is a Sale price.
Will be interesting to see what happens when the sale is over

Ken (ogi8745) | 1432 comments I just checked, Sale is over. Novella is back to 10.99

I was sort of hoping this would of been the time when they lower the price to match the paperback version.

Jim (jimmaclachlan) I hadn't realized it was a sales price. I agree with you. That's a ridiculous price for a novella. Well, they'll only get library loans & used book sales from me. I don't mind supporting authors I like, but only at decent prices. For instance, I preorder HB books for several & usually the price is close to $30 & falls closer to $20 by the time it ships. That's fine for a HB, not an ebook which they say I don't really own.

Kari | 119 comments Really good books, but yes, I definitely waited for a sale before I bought mine! (I do that with most books I want, though. I keep the Kindle versions on my Amazon wishlist and scan prices every once in a while for any price drops.)

Ken (ogi8745) | 1432 comments Kari, I do the same, I have a wishlist on Kobo and everyday I go through the list checking.
I also regularily peruse the sale items
