I really liked it. The plot was very intricate and sometimes it was hard to keep track of all the characters but otherwise absolutely enjoyable. Had everything that I like: dragons, bad-ass lady warriors, political drama. I liked most of the characters, which is unusual for me and the main romance was great (again, something that is unusual for me to like)!
Would note that the first half is mostly worldbuilding and if that is something that you aren't into keep that in mind. Especially because it's a 800+ book😅

Good, good! I like all those things, too. And I'm glad to hear that the main romance is enjoyable as well. Especially with such a big book haha. I already have a copy lying here at home but haven't been able to start reading yet so I'm always happy to hear what others have thought of it. And the cover is soooo pretty =D
Have you read Bone Season?

I have read the bone season. The first half of the first book was very confusing to me because I didn't understand the magic system at all and the plot didn't make sense. I had to go to Wikia for some clarity. After that, I do remember enjoying the rest of the books quite a lot. At the same time, I don't remember much of the plot. Take that as you will😅

Hahah, true, it was so hard to get into the world and the magic system, but the plot and characters were enjoyable. I've only read the first book so far. Somehow I never seem to manage to pick up the second book as there's always something else that gets read instead, but it was a good read.

It's been a great challenge! And you were a fabulous team! :-)
Thank you everyone!! Fantastic reading :-D
Thank you everyone!! Fantastic reading :-D
And now I'm off to bed with my Z book hahaha ;-)
If you want to try a slightly odd fantasy novel from a writer with a great writing style and an amazing way to infiltrate sarcasm every now and then, give Sergei Lukyanenko a go. I picked The Night Watch up by chance several years ago and enjoyed it a lot!
Oh, and the horror tag is a bit off because while it gets a bit dark sometimes and there are murders, I don't really see these being horror books.
Anyway! Good night! :-)

In case nobody finishes something that fits, I'll just switch a 5 point book out for this one as mine counts for 40.
