Eliza | 28 comments Any suggestions for post-apocalyptic books? I've read Pestilence and loved that book. Anything similar would be much appreciated! thanks!

ElizaBlue I would def. recommend - The 5th Wave, it´s really enjoyable and they even made a movie, but I haven´t seen it so I cant really say if it´s any good.

Chrissy (bookwormchrissy) | 31 comments I remember really liking Angelfall (Penryn & the End of Days) by Susan Ee, which sounds like it could be similar.

Or if you also like zombie apocalypse end of the world, I'd recommend Tracey Ward's zombie series. You could start with either Writing on the Wall or with Until the End. The first is a trilogy and the second a duology, both set in the same world with different main characters and a few years apart.

World War Z was also good, but more in a semi-dry history book way (though more entertaining than that description suggests lol) <- Yes, I'm not a history buff haha

Then there's Feed by Mira Grant. I've only read book 1 in that series, I really should get back to the rest...

That's all I can think of right now off the top of my head.

Skye (skyesie) | 10 comments Oh Pestilence was so good! I feel like I’ve waited forever for WAR!
I’d recommend “Penryn and the End of Days” really good! And of course Ruby Dixon’s Dragon series. PESTILENCE I feel is more novel like and these are more bookish.

Nerdy Werewolf (nerdywerewolf) If you're looking for something weird and romantic, I recommend these based on my own definition of "End of the World". :)

Warm Bodies (Warm Bodies, #1) by Isaac Marion -It's basically Romeo and Juliet told after the zombie apocalypse.
Wolfking (Wolfking, #1) by Sarah Rayne -Takes place in what feels like the past because everyone's living without any technology after the apocalypse. Later, there are interesting elements like mutants, animal-people, faeries and time-travel. This is probably my favorite book.

If you are a fan of Urban Fantasy, these are the best:

Magic Bites (Kate Daniels, #1) by Ilona Andrews -Post-apocalypse-magic vs. science-style. Amazing cast of compelling characters.
Written in Red (The Others, #1) by Anne Bishop -Alternate modern world in which the "Earth" is run by terrifying shape-shifting creatures who literally lease pieces of land for humans to live on. Very unique concepts and characters the whole way through.

I'd love to know more about what you consider to be "End of the World"? Are you looking more for disaster books?

Eliza | 28 comments Hey Holly! I'd say dystopian fiction is my favorite. End of the world might not be the correct verbiage for what I'm looking for. Land of the Beautiful Dead was a book I really enjoyed- which mixed paranormal with dystopian future. I'd say it's similar to what you've recommended!

Eliza | 28 comments And I am not a YA fan, I've tried and I just cant get into them :(

Nerdy Werewolf (nerdywerewolf) Ah. I'm very into post-apocalypse (if you can't tell) adult Urban Fantasy, so maybe I'm not the best source. I love dystopian storylines, but only in Sci-Fi movies, lately. I wish you all the luck!

No worries- I'd think the majority of what i have read has been dystopian. However, I'd totally be down for more of "end of the world" "after the apocalypse" books!

Crystal | 2 comments I just finished The Queen of All that Dies, The Fallen World trilogy by the same author as Pestilence and I was obsessed. I binge read the trilogy in two days.

Jennifer Wheeler Oh I’ve got lots! Hold on, I’ll post links 😁

Jennifer Wheeler It doesn’t sound like it from the description, but this series takes place after a genetically engineered virus wipes out a huge portion of the non-paranormal population
