"Kay. Truth or dare?" Val inquired, raising an eyebrow.

"Dare," Amber said boldly.

"I dare you to. . . .put your hand in a pool of blood," Val said, her smile taking on a mischievous note.

Amber made a face, but did as Val said

Val patted her on the shoulder.

Amber wiped her hand on her trousers. "That was a bit gross. Truth or dare?"

Val nodded. "Dare," she echoed, knowing that whatever she had to do would be equally gross.

"I dare you to..." Amber hesitated. She'd never been great at dares, but, nonetheless... "Use the blood as a war paint."

There was no hesitation for Val to do the dare. She laughed, a bit of the blood trickling down her cheek. "Truth or dare?"

"Truth," Amber replied.

"Uh. . . ."Val said, trying to think of something. "Do you like-like anyone?"

Amber grinned. "Well...yes, actually. Yes I do."

Val had to retrain from asking whom because it was not her turn.

"Truth or dare?" Amber asked.

"Truth," Val said, smiling anxiously.

"Who, if anyone, do YOU like?" Amber inquired.

Val scratched the back of her neck, blushing.

"Come on, little miss tomato," Amber goaded.

Val shook her head, turning even redder.

"I won't laugh. I promise. Please?" Amber begged.

"Who do you like?" Val asked, switching the topic. If Amber liked her back, she'd say.

Amber rolled her eyes. "You, Val!"

Val grinned. "Well," she said, read and bouncy with excitement, "I like you too!"

Amber nodded. "I figured. You've been pretty obvious about it."

Val turned bright red.

Amber laughed. "That. That right there is what gave it away," she said, gesturing to Val's blush.

Val's blush grew even darker.

((Sorry it took me a while to reply. I had a dance thingy and then I went to several bookstores and Hot Topic))

"It's actually kind of endearing," Amber smiled, brushing some of the blood-stained hair from Val's face.

((It's fine. I've been off most of the day anyway))

Val blushed and rolled her eyes. "Thanks."

((I noticed this. It made me feel less sorry about taking forever to reply.))

"Any time," Amber said.

((Ah. Well, that's good then))

Val blushed and looked down at the ground.

"Nothing like confessing your passions in a bloodstained place where animals are brutally murdered," Amber said.

"Yep," Val agreed cheerily. "Want to go somewhere else? Like that ice cream parlor or something?"

"If there wouldn't be any problems with our appearances," Amber said, gesturing to their bloody hair.

"Sapphire Park to wash our faces and hair, and then ice cream?" Val amended, smiling sheepishly before glancing around the Slaughterhouse.

"Sounds like a plan," Amber nodded.

"Okay!" Val agreed, getting up off the ground.
