You say goodbye to your mentor before you step into the hovercraft, heart pounding. WIth you are some of the tributes you may kill, or be killed by in the next few days. Just the thought of it makes you shudder. The hovercraft takes off with a lurch, and your heart drops into your stomach. Dread fills you as the nice-looking lady comes around with the trackers.
“Give me your arm.”
Reluctantly, you stick out your arm, and try not to wince as the tracker enters your arm. You wouldn’t want to show your fellow tributes any weaknesses now would you?

The hovercraft lands and you are escorted to the chamber where you say goodbye to your stylist. The door opens, and there they stand. They open their arms and you rush into them, a last sense of comfort before your impending doom.
“30 seconds,” a female, computerized voice tells you. Your stylist whispers their last words of advice before you step into the glass chamber. The walls slide closed, and the platform hisses as it rises. You stand on your toes, trying to catch a glimpse of the arena that lays before you. In the back of your mind, you wonder if the outfit you chose was suitable. Yes, the outfit you chose. You pray that you chose wisely. Eventually the plate rises enough to where you can see the arena before you. You search frantically for a Cornucopia, but it’s nowhere to be found… At least not on the ground. It’s then that you start to panic, but you force yourself to take in your surroundings. Is this a joke? No, it most certainly is not. The arena is modeled after something you’ve seen before, something you saw on your way in and could see from the balcony of your apartment. That’s right ladies and gentlemen! The arena is a replica of the Capitol. A clock counts down, each pulse echoing through the arena.
15, 14, 13… You crouch and prepare to run.
10, 9, 8… You take a look at the other tributes around you, who are all ready to sprint as well.
3, 2, 1.. The gong sounds and you take off at a sprint.

Happy Hunger Games, and may the odds be ever in your favor!

You heard me. The arena is a copy of the Capitol, with the buildings and shops and everything. The Cornucopia rests atop a 10 story building (a deathly fall), and has 240 narrow stairs winding around the building. This is the only way to the top, other than climbing the side. It should be noted that the top of the building is quite windy, and also quite dangerous. One misstep on the stairway and you’re badly injured or dead. Now, that’s not the only way to get supplies. There are several shops lining the streets of the arena. Each shop contains life-saving supplies like weapons, food, water, or shelter, but they also contain something deadly as well. Whether it be mutts, a gauntlet or poisonous gas, it’s incredibly difficult to survive the trip. There is a fountain in the middle of the square, but the water is poisoned and needs to be purified. Guess where you get the kit to do such a thing? You guessed it. The shops or the Cornucopia. That’s not all. There are robotic citizens in the arena as well. Try to kill or disarm them? They turn on you and are set out to kill you until they are disabled. Certainly not something you want to try and mess with.

The Cornucopia will contain the following items:
two swords
one axe
a set of six throwing knives
➸ three spears
one bow with a quiver of twelve arrows
five one water bottle
three water purification kits
six backpacks (every backpack is identical and contains the following:
→ one meter of rope
→ two packets of dried fruit
→ one small knife
→ a sleeping bag

There will be a total of ten shops. Three will be grocery stores (food and water), two will be jewelry (weapons), four will be general stores (supplies like sleeping bags, matches, etc.) and one will be a drugstore (medicines). The general stores will contain mutts, the grocery and jewelry stores will be gauntlets, and the drugstore will contain the poisonous gas.

Your tribute should not know the following at the start of the arena:
➸ the shops contain live-saving items
➸ the shops contain deathly obstacles
➸ the Cornucopia contains items
➸ the water in the fountain is poisonous
➸ the citizens are robotic and they will turn on you if you attempt to harm them

Also, the tributes were allowed to choose their own outfits, so make sure you include their decision as well. Though keep in mind that the tributes didn’t know what the arena was like when they chose their clothing.

GOOD LUCK!

This has to be a joke.

Cia tensed, looking around the arena. There were shops and people, people lining the streets, proceeding on as though nothing was wrong. It was disgusting. The Capitol was playing the cruelest of cards, making them fight to the death in their own city. She looked down at her outfit that she chose, jeans, combat boots, a relatively heavy jacket and a short-sleeved t-shirt, knowing she had prepared for both a hot and cold environment. Her attention, which had been focused on how much she hated the Capitol for their joke, turned back to the arena. Lolita, her ally... She should find her...

She looked around for Lolita, trying to catch her attention. Cia had watched her interview, and knew about her near-blindness. Perhaps it would be best to just run to her, though it couldn't have been that bad. Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't. Cia wasn't going to baby or pity her, but she might have to help her out. Her eyes flicked back to the clock, which was at ten seconds. Her whole body tensed, ready to spring off the platform and run for Lolita. The gong sounded, and she did just that.

Cia pushed her way through the robotic citizens, sprinting for Lolita. She grabbed Loli's arm and pulled her back into an alleyway, for she knew that the Cornucopia she had seen resting atop the highest building was out of reach and inaccessible.
"It's me, Cia. We have to get out of here. Stay close to me, we'll take the alleyways for now. Let's go," she said quickly, only slightly out of breath. Running was something Cia could do for long periods of time. She took off at a run through the alleyways, twisting and snaking through until she came to a general store. She didn't go inside, but she figured they could stay there until they figured out a strategy.

Jago stared around. Never had he envisioned this. Never.

He wore a short sleeve shirt, a black jacket, and jeans. He had hoped he would be prepared whether in cold or hot, and luckily, the temperature felt perfect. He twisted his token-- a red and black threaded bracelet-- around his wrist.

He looked around for his allies. He met the gaze of Sage, and gave her a small nod. He saw that Adele was looking at Sage too.

They would try to go for a general store on the outskirts, nothing to much in the bloodbath. It would be in and out, and then they would run away.

The gong sounded, and Jago was prepared.

They began running, fast, away. He heard windows shattering, people fighting, and, worst of all, children falling silent. Dead silent.

AυвяєєƤαιgє | 721 comments Sage sees the arena. She gasps. She looks over at jaguar, Minny, and Adele, all of them obviously surprised. Nothing has ever occurred like this before. Nothing like the pristine fountains or the shops or the skyscrapers. Nothing. As the gong sounds, her plan is to run into the general store on the outskirts, get a few supplies and then ran as far as she can away from the city center.

AυвяєєƤαιgє | 721 comments As she runs for her life, she sees Adele, Jaguar, and Minny running a short distance behind her. She stares down at her clothing, a sweater worn over a thin t-shirt. Her shirt is tucked into yoga pants. She realizes that her yoga pants might be too warm, depending on the weather. But Sage knows from watching other games that the weather can change drastically.

AυвяєєƤαιgє | 721 comments ((By skyscraper, do you mean Cornucopia? Because the cornucopia is on a skyscraper. In the description it doesn't say anything about other skyscrapers, so I think we should go to the general store.))

Girlfromdystopia | 564 comments Adele knows it's a risk, but she does it anyway. She sees her allies and hopes that they don't follow her. Then she sprints to the Cornucopia. She knows that to survive, she'll need a weapon, and if she doesn't get one from there, then there's not much chance left. Surprisingly, there are not many tributes headed this way and she starts up the stairs with almost no problems.
((Is anyone else up there or going up there?))

"She needs back up!" Jago yells. We immediately bee line for the skyskraper.

"What should we do?!" Sage pants.

annaesj Riva had chosen the same plain outfit she had been wearing during training to wear in the arena- brown boots, a green long sleeved tee, light trousers. The words of her stylist passed over Riva, as her mind flashed through memories. The tube closed around her and she began to rise. Riva closed her eyes, her hand wrapping around the crumpled essay in her pocket. Soon I'll be with you, The a.
Riva stood, her eyes not opening, the wind on her face. How would she do this? Step off the podium now? It would be that easy. She wouldn't even know it had happened. But Riva didn't want it to happen like that, for some reason. Maybe it wasn't meaningful enough? You don't deserve 'meaningful', she reminded herself. You deserve to die painfully, without hope, without reason, like she did. You are never forgiven. It is time to die, like you should have a year ago. But still, Riva could not bring herself to do it, and the gong went off. Stupid. Now it will be even harder. Riva heard shouts, footsteps, and at last opened her eyes.
The Capitol. Really? Yes, yes, she didn't deserve to die in a nice setting, but, of all the places...
Where was the Cornucopia? nowhere in sight. But, by the positioning of the circle of tributes, it would be... In or on top of that skyscraper. Slowly, Riva walked over to the building and sat down, leaning against it. Won't be that long before someone gets up there and gets a weapon...

((So, as Riva has no allies, I thought maybe she could sort of die to save someone else still. I'll see what happens... She's a confusing character and I have a number of plans, all of which depend on everything.))

Jago immediately back tracked. The mitt people were downright creepy. He heard the rickety stairs creaking.
"Guys, I don't think we should try for the Cornucopia. We have a much better chance down. We've only climbed a story, we can go back down! We need to get put of here.

Mihr wore a stretchy tank top and ankle length capris. She looked up and saw the Cornucopia on top of a skyscraper. Skyscraper?! She gasped as she looked around and saw the Capitol. She had seen many, many pictures from her father's business trips and all, but this.. it was an exact image of the Capitol. She saw shop names she had heard about, and people. There were people! They may be robotic but she didn't care and had no idea if they were or not. She needed to get to her weapons. She ran for the skyscraper. God knew what might be inside so she looked at the building. There were small ridges carved in, that looked like small dents. She could climb up. Maybe. Taking a deep breath, she placed a foot in a ridge and put her hand in one above it. She kept on going, Foot, hand, foot, hand Soon she found herself still only midway to the top, but the problem was, daring to go any higher might result in her falling off of the skyscraper, a certain death. But

message 35: by [deleted user] (new)

They continued out of the building. They ran down the paved streets, farther and farther, till they reached a far our General store. They ducked in.

Racks held thin sleeping bags, matches, blanket and more. Everything was thin, and there were only a few of everything, but we needed this stuff. Jago grabbed a small bag and shoved a pack of matches inside, not knowing what the bag contained. They also took a thin black blanket.

message 36: by Girlfromdystopia (new)

Girlfromdystopia | 564 comments It was when they were gathering supplies that Adele spotted a wasp nest on the far side of the store. Tracker jackers, she knew instantly. Gamemakers wouldn't put regular wasps in the Hunger Games. She gestured to the others and they gathered the rest of the supplies as silently as they could.

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

They immediately stopped loading the bags, and tried to get out of the store.

Almost on cue, as soon as Adele spotted the tracker jackers they unleashed from all four corners of the room. Four nests, thousands of tracker jackers. They attacked the tributes inside immediately, swarming over them and stinging as much as they could.

message 43: by Girlfromdystopia (new)

Girlfromdystopia | 564 comments Adele was surrounded as they ran toward the door. She was stung once, on her bicep, then twice, in her neck. She was stung again on the leg as they went out the door. ((I'd add a few more stings... The whole point of the shops was to kill some. unsuspecting tributes and make it really hard to get supplies...))

message 46: by [deleted user] (new)

I scream in pain. I dropped the bag on the way out, and get at least 5 or 6 stings. I think I am hallucinating. No, maybe not, but I swear that my sister isn't in these games. And and THEY ARE KILLING HER. No... No Tella... Not my sis.... No.

message 47: by annaesj (new)

annaesj Riva saw the group of tributes start up the skyscraper, but come back down and into a shop; she vaguely wondered why. Mihr was climbing the building, though. One of the 'people's, which couldn't possibly be real, passed by her, and Riva tilted her head at the man. They weren't attacking anyone, so they must have another reason for being there, shouldn't they? Riva didn't notice the tracker-jackers which were swarming out of the shop.

message 48: by Girlfromdystopia (new)

Girlfromdystopia | 564 comments Adele eyes are lying to her; she knows it, but she still can't help the hope she feels when she sees Neph walking to her, hand out. She tries to reach her hand out, but before they touch the world goes dark.

Jago screams again, for Tella. He vaguely processes Sage telling them that they need to get out of there. A dead child is on the ground, though. Purple mist oozes out of her hands.

"Noooo! Tella!" I say, but Minny pulls me along.
