Val's flat, or, more rather, her parents' flat, is of average size in the Middle City Slums. The walls, unlike most, are painted, and the furniture is more plush than most as well. The flat is the same size as most.

Val got home and went inside, waiting for Rosary to tell her parents that the Heart of the City School couldn't take her.

Val's mother and father nodded, seemingly overjoyed. Val his behind a stack of papers as her parents ushered Rosary into the small, rectangular, one-room flat.

Val's mother gasped and flung her arms around her husband, who sighed sadly. He stared at the ground. Val grinned from where she hid, but her grin faded slightly when she saw her parents' disappointment.

Val stuck her head out of her hiding place and mouthed 'thank you!' to Rosary. She hid again before her parents saw her.

Val came out of hiding when she left, greatly relieved.

Amber walked up to the flat and looked to Val.

Val grinned. "Good job my brother isn't home."

Amber looked down at their sopping wet clothes and smirked. "Yeah..."

Val pulled her shirt off and put on a dry one. "Hopefully my stuff will fit you."

"Hopefully," Amber agreed.

"You're four inches taller," Val said uncertainly. "You may be wearing mum's clothes."

"Would she mind?" Amber asked.

"She doesn't get to," Val decided.

"Oh," Amber said simply.

Val grinned and tossed Amber some of her mother's clothes.

Amber peeled off her current outfit and began pulling on the clothes Val had given her. "Thanks," she said, smiling sheepishly.

Val finished changing her outfit. "No problem." She started to brush her hair. "Anything else you need?"

Amber shook her head quickly.

Val nodded. "Okay then. Shall we go to the Wall?"

"I'm ready when you are," Amber replied.

"Well," Val said, grinning, "then you get to lead the way."

Amber wrinkled her nose. "Do I have to?"

"Yep," Val said, putting her hand on Amber's shoulder and pushing her in front.
