I think young adult is just young adult and I never heard of new adult. I will have to get back to you on that one.

yes. It can pretty much be any book not just a Christmas them book. I put it out there cause not a lot of people celebrate Christmas.

I like the sound of this one, too!

Krampus: The Yule Lord
Yearly Harvest: A True Story of Christmas
The Dark Servant
Christmas Ghost Stories: A Collection of Winter Tales
A Christmas Carol
and i have one that isn't on goodreads, it's the one i linked to above^.

Typically YA (young adult) features characters ranging in age from 13-17/18. The subject matter usually deals with "firsts" (First loves, first sexual encounters, etc.) and discovering who they are, but with a safety net of parents or adults around.
NA (New Adult) is usually characters from 18-25, or the college years. The subject matter can be more charged and "adult" in nature, but in true NA voice the characters are searching for how they fit into the world, but without a safety net. They make mistakes and now have to figure out mostly on their own how to resolve the conflicts within the story.

Young adult is where characters are between ages of 17-20 I believe because I know teen is ages 13-16 and new adult is where characters are from 19-25 and are typically college students. Example, Easy by Tammara Webber is a new adult book.

Yes they do count.
Yes they do count.
Okay thank you, I'm trying to find books that will fit the challenge but I'm not familiar with Christmas/winter themed books I usually read vampires, zombies, historical fantasy, etc. lol

I would count any books that has a snow or winter in it. Like harry potter which has winter. The book does not have to have a main theme of winter it just has to have mention snow or some sort of christmas or winter thing.

oh okay, I know Harry Potter would be perfect but I don't know if I want to read that series because I've already seen all of the movies. Thank you for your input though, I thought the book had to be centered around Christmas

The challenge has not started yet. So I would recommend making the shelf you are going to use. The challenge starts on December 1.

The theme is Young Adult book, Adult books and Christmas theme books. Really any books.

I done it this way since a lot of people don't celebrate Christmas.
I added the Christmas theme cause it wouldn't be Christmas without it.

The books are so much better than the movies! Everytime I watch one of the later movies I feel that they are never complete

You don't have to list your book just make a shelf for the book and then enter the shelf on december 1 and goodreads will take care of the rest.

Thank you. I deleted my comment because as soon as I posted it there was an answer right above my comment.

Trust me, if you've never read the books, and you like the movies, you'll want to read the books. They leave out so much stuff in the movies (usually because of time constraints and whatnot) that are essential to the storyline in the books, especially books 6 and 7 (hint: in book 6 the Weasley house was NOT set on fire, totally different stuff happened over Christmas break), and the movies will make so much more sense after reading the books. I hadn't read any of the books until after the first movie came out, and still resisted reading them till after the third movie, when I was convinced that the movies were leaving too much out, and after reading the books I discovered that was actually the case. Now I'm a total Potterhead (I've read the entire series 7 times, and am working my way through again).

Here is a step to step guide that I made on how to enter a challenge. https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Some challenges get hidden. Cause I do monthly challenges for holidays. So by clicking more challenges. It will help you scroll down to find the challenge you are looking for.

You enter how many books you wish to read and the shelf name you are using for the challenge.

No problem Latsha. You can just leave it and it will just stay the way it is.
