Yea, it's not a very big or deep book. I think at the end when they were trying to get off the planet, there were quite a few humans trying to help them. I seem to remember one of the aliens riding on top of a car singing at one point.

Oh, if you're still looking, we won't abandon the thread. You should bump it every few months to get new members looking at it.
This thread is nearly 12 years old, so it would be nice if it could get solved. That could be a record.
Misty, is this book for kids, teens or adults?
How else are the aliens different from the humans on Earth? Are they all adults?

Aliens Crashed in My Back Yard by Mike Van Horn turned up while searching, but the publication date is too recent (2019).

I can't believe it, but I found it. It was so random, too. I was at our local Friends of the Public Library, and I happened to see a copy of Starsong by Dan Parkinson. I picked it up and immediately recognized the cover. I'm so excited, so after more than 14 1/2 years - this thread is officially solved! :) :) :) :) :) I'm a big enough nerd that I did a little dance in the store. LOL.
Wow, that is fantastic. Thanks for letting us know.
