The bullet rippled through the air and through the man's head as if they were the same substance. Although the knife still wen through the girl, that guy wouldn't be hurting anyone anytime soon. Or ever again. This brought upon the attention of the other fiends, who turned their backs on the young girl in the dusty blue Vault 21 jumpsuit and faced the crazy bitch everyone talked about. They were junkies, but even they knew better than to not fear this woman. There was every reason to; she'd taken down entire armies. But the two attacked anyway, charging at the blonde who was just a few yards away. Instead one of them found his throat being ripped out by a half-robot dog, and the other—a woman—was shot through the gut by Samantha.

Shoving her .45 in her holster, she looked down at the bodies. That was all of them around there, she knew for sure. Sam let her eyes drift back over to the cowering girl, raising her perfectly sculpted eyebrows. "Well, you just gonna sit there?"

Samantha spread her arms out and gave her a sort of "well?" look, waiting for the girl to say something. When it was clear she wasn't, Sam crossed her arms, the half-robot half-dog sitting obediently beside her. "You come from 21 over there? Down in Vegas? Shouldn't be out here, kid. Should have talked to Sarah, maybe."

Surely the girl would know Sarah Weintraub. She was another Vault girl, just like this one, with the agoraphobia. So she'd turned what was left of the Vault into a gift shop and hotel; probably would have let the kid stay, too, if she'd have asked.

Samantha blinked slowly. "So what do you think is going to happen now? I'm just gonna leave and you're gonna make your way back to Vegas no problem? Look, if you came this far, you probably don't want to go back to Vegas. Nothing there for you, is there? Well, you keep heading west there, you find Quarry Junction. Then you're dead. Guess you wouldn't know that, being in a Vault your whole life."

Samantha knew exactly how she felt; grew up in a vault, kicked out... and that's where their similarities stopped. Samantha narrowed her eyes after a few minutes of examining the girl. There was something strange about her. Tilting her head, she asked, "You been around radiation lately? You should know if you were, your Geiger counter on your Pip-Boy woulda went off."

Samantha knelt beside her immediately, placing a hand on her neck. "You turnin' into a ghoul over here? Nah, can't be, else you woulda seen some radiation. You been throwing up lately? Dizzy? Bad eyesight? Might know what's goin' on with ya. Could take you back to see the Followers if it's really that important."

Samantha stood and put her arms under the girls' armpits, pulling her up from her doubled over position. "Might know what's wrong with ya, but the Followers got more time for this kinda thing. Sitting there starin' at the ground'll just make ya feel worse." She pulled one of Sage's arms over her own shoulders, beginning to walk as the dog trotted behind.
