This Is How It Always Is by Laurie Frankel
A 2017 release, but luckily, Macmillan made the audio available on NetGalley. Loved this beautiful family drama so much!

Maria (maregar) My Mechanical Romance by Alexene Farol Follmuth by Alexene Farol Follmuth, a cute young adult story about new beginings, friendship, young love and STEM.

I'm nearly done with it and I'm so sorry it took me 2 years to read it, it's super adorable and fun.

Billie's Not So Secret Diary (billiesnotsosecretdiary) | 257 comments The City of Stardust by Georgia Summers The City of Stardust by Georgia Summers

I always hope a book will get better but this one didn't. There wasn't any real action or 'drama' so it was a slow read!

Billie's Not So Secret Diary (billiesnotsosecretdiary) | 257 comments The Invocations by Krystal Sutherland The Invocations by Krystal Sutherland was good but could've been better with more details about the demons, world, and characters.

The writing was also a little off, seeming to jump from past and present tense, and missing fs in the middle of words...

But it was a good and quick read.

Relit 16 Latinx Remixes of Classic Stories by Sandra Proudman
Enjoyed this anthology of retellings with a Latinx SFF twist. It's YA, but other than that, it's worth a read. ;)

Billie's Not So Secret Diary (billiesnotsosecretdiary) | 257 comments The Tainted Cup by Robert Jackson Bennett The Tainted Cup (Shadow of the Leviathan, #1) by Robert Jackson Bennett is not a bad story, but it lacks backstory on the world/monsters. Plus I had the main mystery figured out pretty quickly.

Billie's Not So Secret Diary (billiesnotsosecretdiary) | 257 comments A Fate Inked in Blood by Danielle L. Jensen A Fate Inked in Blood (Saga of the Unfated, #1) by Danielle L. Jensen started off good, but fizzled. The romance was boring, so overdone, plus I don't respect adultery. And the MC, I got irritated with her.

Even though it was a good story, the MC and the porn at the end ruined a good story.

A very low

Carolyn | 92 comments Zenith Man Death, Love, and Redemption in a Georgia Courtroom by McCracken Poston Jr. Zenith Man: Death, Love, and Redemption in a Georgia Courtroom by McCracken Poston Jr., is a true-life courtroom drama entertainingly written by the lawyer who defended his neurodiverse client accused of murdering the wife no one knew he had.
