As a general rule, yes. (Also, edition information should be moved to the edition field from the title field.)

There was a single duplicate of Starting Out with Python (no ISBN, and the cover and other data were an exact match of another edition), which I merged. Each of the other 16 editions has a unique and valid ISBN or ASIN, so it stays. Whether they all show up on an order form isn't especially relevant.

It often amazes people -- even professional booksellers and librarians -- how many editions of a book we can have. As you say, some are custom/special editions.

Jeffrey Carl (jeffrey_carl) Hi, How can I merge my e-book and my paperback book? I also have an audio book I want to merge. I want to do a giveaway, but if the paperback book disappears, I won't be able to do it.[author:Jeffrey Carl|7374271

Combined (and currently correcting edits again GR policy). FYI, AB edition not yet on GR?

ETA: forgot to hit 'reply' first

ETA2: I also see no valid PB edition/info?

Georgie-who-is-Sarah-Drew (georgiewhoissarah) | 17 comments HI, Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask this question, but I am a very newbie Librarian! There's a book - Stalky & CO by Kipling - where there are lots and lots of Kindle editions, which differ from each other only in the ASIN number. Is it appropriate to merge these together so that there are far fewer Kindle versions appearing (effectively deleting all the apparent duplicates)?
Thanks,
Georgie

Abcdarian | 26579 comments Hi Georgiana: Goodreads keeps all editions with differing numbers, so no. They are combined, but not merged.
