Rambling Reader (ramblingreader) | 0 comments EXQUISITE!

Would that format work on any e-reader?

message 3: by Nancy (new)

Nancy | 2838 comments No, Chris. I know there are ways to convert .mobi files, but I haven't taken the time to learn how.

Rambling Reader (ramblingreader) | 0 comments Oh forget it hahaha!

Nancy | 2838 comments I solved the problem by having two e-readers. LOL!

Rambling Reader (ramblingreader) | 0 comments LOL I haven't bought Kindle, Nook, iPad, etc yet.

I just read e-books on my laptop using Bookviser, Adobe Reader, Yuzu

Stephen (havan) | 548 comments There is a free-ware program called Calibre that does a pretty great job in translating most formats to other preferred formats.

I generally use it to translate PDF's that I get into Mobi formats but it works the other way as well. It DOESN'T always work great. The biggest problem that I find is when a PDF is formatted for displaying pages two-up.

Rambling Reader (ramblingreader) | 0 comments Does Calibre work on Windows?

Stephen (havan) | 548 comments yep. I'm running Windows 8.1 and I use it.

Rambling Reader (ramblingreader) | 0 comments 8 pounds… that's like oh wow that's nearly 13 American dollars. The price of a nice paperback.

Yep, and £8 is for the Kindle version. Is it worth it? Persuade me! :)

Rambling Reader (ramblingreader) | 0 comments Have you read Paul Monette before? He was a superb writer, he first wrote novels until he was diagnosed with AIDS, and then he turned his attention to writing his memoirs.

Jonathan Hill | 173 comments To my shame, no. I've only recently discovered the writing of other gay authors so all suggestions are much appreciated. :)

I'd recommend reading all members of the Violet Quill, especially Edmund White.
