You'll love Gone Girl. We had quite a discussion on it's thread. You'll like it: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

I'm reading Journey to the Center of the Earth, Stranger in a Strange Land, Duma Key and Almost Adept

Damn! That is lightspeed!

I've read Journey to the Centre of the Earth. It was interesting, but I think it's dated. It read almost like a proper scientific expedition, which made it boring in parts, I found. Once they got on the water it picked up :)
I definitely prefer Arthur Conan Doyle's The Lost World as a better explory sci-fi prehistoric creature thing. It was a lot more fun. Although it was written much later, so Doyle was probably partly standing on the shoulders of giants there.

OMG! I completely agree! I'm literally forcing myself to complete it. I'll try and read some more, but if I won't like it then I guess I'm gonna leave it... :(

Sudev,
If you like this type of book, you might want to join the February Genre Challenge: mystery and thrillers. You can see the Genre Challenge schedule for the year here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Yes. In fact, I've read the first book twice already. I intended to read the entire series again because I thought GRRM was releasing Winds Of Winter in late 2016, but when I realized it wasn't happening I stopped (after the first book's re-read.) I'm gonna re-read the entire series in whichever year Winds Of Winter would be releasing.
I love (LOVE) this series!! As it was my first real high fantasy series, but the first book is my absolute true love. I'm a BIG fan of Eddard Stark... I have his posters and will be buying his funko pop soon too! For some reason, he touched me (along with millions of others) more than any other character in this series alive or dead and I simply can't get over his death :'(

Yes, I've heard that the author likes to kill off some of the most favorite characters.

Trying new and different types of books is just what this group was created for. I know it helped me broaden the types of books I'm willing to try. Sometimes it's a hit, sometimes it's a miss, but I'm never in a reading rut because of this.
