EVANGELINE, affectionately known as Eva in intimate circles, is the ruler of Vanderbilt, and everyone knows that it's a fact of life.

She was born a ruler too- she was born to the King and Queen of Monaco, who's ancestors founded the very Vanderbilt Academy, an old summer palace. She was born on January 17th in the royal palace- but she was illegitmate, instead born to an English royal in line to the throne and her father, the King of Monaco. Nobody knows this except for dear, sweet old dad who'd kill to keep it under wraps. She was always surrounded by a team of nannies- at least 3 at a time, who never stayed for more than a month. She was educated until she was 12 with a variety of tutors- she maybe saw her parents two or three times a year outside of formal events. Her going away gift to Vanderbilt was an adorable Papillion for companionship, and it's probably the only thing she loves with no strings attached.

When she arrived at Vanderbilt, people feared her and she exploited that fear to become a classic clique leader. The "Glam Clan" was created in the summer of her sixth grade year; a cult of crème de la crème some would venture to say.

SHE isn't as soul sucking as some believe- she feels the need to validate her authority with every move. Confidence radiates off of her- being a model and an actress might do that to a person. Indeed, she can be cold and conniving, with a heart of stone to get what she wants, but if you know her closely she'll become more friendly and kind. Onstage, she can be anyone- which makes her a great actress. Just tell her what to do, and she'll execute it perfectly. She can be fiercely protective of her friends, and tends to manage her anger horribly- one case was in eighth grade when she caused a girl's face to turn a hideous shade of orange after she insulted Eva's friend's natural spray tan.

Playful and mysterious, Ari's known to speak in circles, and every last word of hers always hints to double meanings. Incredibly flirtatious and seductive, she knows how to play her beauty to her advantage. Extremely smart and intelligent, Ariadne walks with her own pretentious and confident air. However, the half smirk on her face can turn to a frown, allude to tears, and burst out in laughter in less than a minute. She's known to have "phases"; mood bursts that will leave her locked up and alone in her room to see almost no one. Incredibly elusive and cunning, Ari's known to leave men waiting empty-handed-
And empty hearted.
Appearance:
Ariadne is, to say the least, beautiful. Long hair that cascades in curls down to her waist falls in the deepest shades of mahogany. Her long, curled eyelashes unfurl the brightest silver eyes that shine like starlight. Air's tall and fit, with perfectly curves in all the right places. She's known for her mysterious arched eyebrows sand half a smirk.

History: For such a playful girl, Ari grew up with a devasting past. For someone who laughs so much, she grew up constantly mending her miserable childhood. Unlike all the others at Vanderbilt, Ari came from poverty. Her father was abusive and angry, and her mother died early in her years. To this day, she bears scars on her back from her years of agony. At fourteen, Ariadne ran away, planning to live on the streets. However, discovering her skills in seduction, she managed to get on with a provocative face and body. That year was not ideal, but as she flickered from house to house and street to street with only a tattered notebook she managed to keep, Ariadne wrote a novel. By the end of the year, she had managed to secure a publication, and was a world-famous author under an anonymous name.
Likes: Ari loves pranks, sneaking around, and breaking the rules. She's spontaneous and unpredictable, and loves surprises. Selfish in her own way, she is pretentious and has an unnerving craving for constant knowledge. Her true passion, however, is adventure. Reckless and fearless, there is no one on Earth with better stories than Ariadne. Her and her friends are known as the rule-breakers. If you need something done, ask them. Need to smuggle alcohol? Buy cigarettes? Pranks? Ask Ari.
Dislikes: Despite her poor past, she does not openly dislike the rich in Vanderbilt. In her own pretentious way, she looks down at them for not being able to experience the good and bad of freedom in adventure. Of pain and sorry. Of knowledge beyond money. But her true dislikes are those who are afraid. In her same selfish manner, she cannot stand timidness in fear of pain. Due to her wounded past, she has disoriented senses of fear and cannot be empathetic on such emotions.
Strengths: Cunning and extraordinarily intelligent, Ariadne is a fantastic liar and can talk herself in and out of hell. She's provocative and knows how to use it, cunning, and recklessly brave. Extremely gifted in literature, although she remains annonymous on her overly successful publication, her own words sound beautiful enough to be a story on their own.
Weaknesses: {At least one} Ari is moody and unpredictable. Although she can appear kind and sweet, she can snap back into anger and frustration just as quickly. She'll have phases in which she refuses to speak to anyone, and no one knows what she does then. Since she is built of so many secrets, she's incredibly hard to get close to.

Personality: Alex has a well known "bad boy" image. With the sparkle in his bright eyes and a devious smirk, he's a rule breaker to the core. However, really, he's a hidden artist. Though he loves adventure and the adrenaline of being with his friend Ari, he's deep and thoughtful on the inside. He's the thinking part of their duo; the one who has to persuade her out of situations far too dangerous she wants to get into. Living two different lives from before and after he met Ariadne, he's really just swept up far too deep in trying to get a delirious girl to love him back. With his own taste of adventure however, the two both get drunk on adrenaline, and are known for their capability to get anything done. In Vanderbilt, they have a solid reputation for smuggling. Need booze, cigarettes, or any prohibited items? They'll name you a price and you can't argue. Sarcastic, witty, and intelligent, Alex is also flirtatious and an expert and getting girls- just not the one he wants.
Appearance:
Alex is tall and packed with muscle. He has a chiseled face and a jawline just slightly lined with stubble. Although he is well built and huge, his fingers work delicately and quickly. He has piercing blue eyes that can stare almost anyone down. He's known for his smirk, the only one that has hardly come close to Ari's inimitable one.

History: Alex, like the rest of Vanderbilt, grew up in wealth. He was raised in the trapped white walls of a lonely mansion. He lived with only rules. As he got older, he learned to hate every last bit of it. He ran into Ari on the streets. She was wearing different colored shoes, a coat that looked like it belongs to someone else, and a tattered backpack. In her ripped jeans and dirty tanktop, she was writing in an old notebook at a local coffee shop, ignoring the disdainful looks shot at her by the workers behind the counter. He was struck by the beauty of the light in her eyes, the way that for someone who seemed so lost, she could smile as bright as all the stars in the universe. He began to talk with this homeless girl, and was the first to read her completed novel. He helped her get it published, and she sent him into a whole new world. She wouldn't tell him where she was sleeping,and refused his offers of a safe place to stay. "You're a good person," she had said, "You're not someone I want to hurt." Although the two remain close friends to this day, there will always be secrets even he doesn't know. As Alex grew more and more disobedient, sneaking out at night and doing things beyond insanity with Ari, his parents sent him off to Vanderbilt. They didn't know, however, that the same cause of his newfound rebellious behavior had applied for a scholarship and was going with him.
Likes: Alex loves a good adventure, but since he's always been with someone far more reckless than a human should ever be, he's also forced to think logically. Still, he has an appreciation of beauty through bravery- however insane that bravery may be- and he has great admiration for a good plan. Like Ari, he loves breaking the rules.
Dislikes: Rules, restrictions, and those who enforce it. He grew up in his own prison, and it was Ari- a girl who never had rules- who freed him. There is nothing he would hate more than being restricted.
Strengths: Alex is an extremely gifted cartographer. From his most epic adventures with Ari, he's managed to be an expert on mapping and planning. As well, he's a fantastic artist. Whether it'd be quick candid sketches of Ari while she's thinking, or detailed paintings of landscapes of journeys they plan to go, Alex is incredibly artistically gifted. As well, he's well built and very physically capable.
Weaknesses: {At least one} Alex is willing to do anything for Ari. He's helplessly in love with a girl who can't see it. And without her, he'd be quite empty and on his own. And Ariadne isn't exactly constant and dependant. He always has to take care of her, and he's the only person- if any- that she'll allow in while she's having one of her "phases".

Personality: Maximilian often relies on others doing things for him, and although this may make him appear incompetent at times, it is actually due to an incredibly fear that he will end up doing that particular something wrong. As Maximilian is such a nervous person, it is common for him to turn his sadness or nerves into anger and scream at the closest person, thus giving off the idea that he is completely narcissistic and does not particularly care for any one else. Whilst this may be true to some extent, Maximilian is simply a particularly troubled person.
Due to the complexity of his personality, Maximilian has a variety of secrets that he does not wish to inform anyone of. But of course he wouldn't! Who would want to know that he suffers from an acute superiority complex due to the absence of his father, or that he attempted to kill himself once by taking advantage of the fact that he suffers from medium severity haemophilia? Maximilian makes it a habit not to tell anyone about his incredible amount of problems, for it would be far too embarrassing for him and, besides, the media would be completely fascinated by it. It is, however, no secret to anyone that he often models or that he is considered a musical prodigy, especially since he enjoys showing off his talent.

History: Maximilian is the sixteen year old son of French heiress and socialite Henriette Devereux, the daughter of Henri Devereux, one of the wealthiest men in Europe and quite possibly the world, and although the latter is uncertain, he is certainly in the top three, as he is descended from French royalty and would be King of France, if they still had royalty. However, the man's incredible wealth means that he is currently in complete control of the French government and so, basically, he's the King but without the title. Which, you know, means that Maximilian takes that to his advantage whenever he can. His father is Richard Wrenninford, one of the wealthiest Dukes in the United Kingdom, third in line for the throne of England. Having grown up son of a Duke and a French aristocrat, Maximilian is greatly privileged of course, and he is well aware of that. He has been spoiled rotten by his doting mother and finds himself wishing for the attention of his frequently absent father far more because of it. Maximilian, being an excellent singer, has developed a fairly excellent singing career. In addition, this has formed into quite the modelling career. He is incredibly popular in the United Kingdom because of this. However, he does not like to socialise very much and has few friends, although he is rarely found without his bodyguard, Mr Bende, or his valet Félix, both of which he is incredible close to.

Maximilian's mother will give him anything he desires, no matter what it is. She's particularly overly doting and celebrates his birthday, as well as his half birthday and both of his 'quarter birthdays'. At his young age Maximilian has already amassed a collection of at least seven cars, none of which are anything less than a 'supercar'. He has a Lamborghini, and a Maserati, and two Ferraris and three different Bugattis and his mother will surely buy him more if he wants it. For his fourteenth birthday she bought him an anaconda, and he does adore it. She has also bought him a panther, because he adores cats, and it was the best sort of 'cat' she could get him. Maximilian has also been given ludicrously expensive gifts such as a private island, and a Luvaglio (not that he thinks that's particularly expensive) and a private jet and all sorts of other things.

At present, Maximilian's family lives in a large estate in the British countryside, although they often spend time at their various homes around France, as well as several homes in the USA, his favourite being their Summer home in California with a private beach, which Maximilian absolutely adores. He doesn't really like sharing at all.

↳Maximilian likes to swim quite a lot, and would be considered quite good at it, since his mother used to make him swim every day for several hours. Unlike most people made to do this, he actually enjoyed it.

But once people get a chance to know her, they realize that she’s actually a people person and gets along with everyone (so long as you don’t get on her bad side… although she’s usually somewhat forgiving.)

Even if he comes off as a loner, he’s willing to talk to you but… unfortunately the poor boy isn’t very receptive when it comes to people’s reactions and emotions. Duke can’t read people well and that gets him in trouble when he doesn’t know that he said or did something wrong or offended someone.

Despite that, he’s usually easy to get along with as long as you don’t bother him while he’s producing on his laptop (you’ll never see him without it). Like his sister, Dawn, he’s a pretty helpful person when someone needs him, but 90% of the time it’s about math, technology, or music recommendations.

History: Duke never minded moving around so much as a kid since his and Dawn’s dad was army. Duke did far better in school than his sister since their elementary years and people always said he’d be the next Steve Jobs… who maybe had the same quirks and talents as the music artist Skrillex. There are many ways to describe Aaron, but a common thing is that he's about as cold as the Arctic. He's numb all over, in the ways that are neither terrifying or interesting; just a boring average. He's got a moderate amount of insight and intelligence, enough to allow him passage through the educational system, but not enough to qualify him as a genius. He's not one to dwell in place or the other, a vagabond at heart. The same could apply to any relationships he's ever been in. When he loses interest in it, it's over. That, in a sense, makes him fitting for being the aptly described numb and cold person that he is. But, that is only the top layer, one facet of him.

He's arrogant, so arrogant. He's the kind of arrogant that makes you feel slightly inferior, but mostly offended. He's the level of arrogance that most people can't reach, but he's not rude. Sure, he might have ideas of just how attractive he is, but he doesn't really go around telling everyone that he thinks that. Or that he knows he's more attractive than most. He could honestly care less about what people have to say, or what they might be going through. He can't put himself in the place of others, primarily because he thinks he doesn't have to. He never really got a lesson in empathy when he was younger, and still has yet to get one. His arrogance also makes it near impossible for him to swallow his pride and try to see things from someone else's perspective.

Let's get things straight: Aaron's family was the almost stereotypical old money family. Snooty, always on the move, showing off everything they had and could get. Aaron was born into that, behind an older sister who was already a child model by the time she was five. Five, and already gracing the cover of a magazine. Aaron fit into this quite nicely, with hair a nearly snowy blonde to follow the blonde haired bob his mother and sister sported so well. His father, a man of great wealth and clearly too old for his mother. The decades between the age of the two were perhaps four, but Aaron never really cared all that much for it.

When he turned five, that wondrous number, it was his turn to show the world his face. And they loved it. While he didn't have that pert look to him that his sister had, or the seemingly positioned beauty marks that dotted her face, he was still a hot commodity. Of course, as he got older he dropped out of it. Not because he didn't like, but because he simply lost interest in people walking up to him and asking for his autograph or a picture. They still do that, have been since he was six, but not as much as before. What he really wants to get back to it all, which will be very easy.

At twelve years old, he'd seen a majority of the world. Meaning, he'd been through most of Europe and Asia, parts of South America, a short tour in America, a stop in Africa, and then Australia and New Zealand. He enjoyed a posh education, got a little smarter and then a little risky. He was living in splendor for quite some time, and then Vanderbilt happened.

Aaron has no love for Vanderbilt and the excessive amount of drama. He was used to conflict, yes, but not in the sense that he's been exposed to. Vanderbilt has been a place of stagnancy. Sure, someone died, but he's not exactly mourning that loss. No, he doesn't even think he knew her, to be frank, or that he cares. He just wants to finish his stay, and be gone.

Valkyrie's parents attempted to murder her for a reason unknown to her. Her neighbours had heard her cried for mercy and called the authorities. Her parents were then arrested and Valkyrie was then given the option of going with a guardian or living by herself at the Vanderbilt Academy for the Elite, since she had music, academic and art scholarships. She took the latter option. She thought she'd done something to upset her parents which was why they tried to kill her. This was the reason she didn't want a guardian. Celia's parents were high school sweethearts, and continued on to go to the same college, Princeton University. After graduating from college, they settled down in a suburb close to New York. Her mother, Sophie, was a doctor and her father, Nicholas, was a lawyer. Soon after, they had Celia. She was the perfect child. She never cried, never woke her parents up in the middle of the night. She never did anything bad. That all changed on her fifth birthday. Nobody, not even Celia, knows why she changed so much. [ b ] eing a prince from a foreign land isn't all that it's made out to be. Kassim, while incredibly content with the idea of being royalty, has been increasingly confused since his arrival. There's a ruler for places he didn't think had royalty--apparently one for everything. They certainly didn't rule him--and just generally inconsiderate people. Or, that's how he sees it in comparison to his homeland that was known for courtesy and entertainment, despite how small a nation it is. He hails from a very tiny nation; so small, it's not on any maps. He's fine with it, and if he has to educated people on the subject just to get them to know they exist, he doesn't really care. It's his patience; it's on a legendary level. That, and he has a tendency to zone out when people take a very long time to answer or are generally annoying to him.

Kassim's not gonna lie; he's been known to get smothered with attention because of his looks and royal status. He'd be totally fine if it were just for the former of the two reasons, but he does tend to get annoyed about the latter. Which is why very few people know of him being royalty at the academy. At least, he hopes so. He's a bit of a hopeless romantic. Plus, there's that awesome little fact that he's supposed to be building up a harem to keep the bloodline flowing. If one thing is common in his country, it's that monogamy isn't exactly the norm. It hasn't been for as long as Kassim could remember. His mother was the third wife, and he was just one out of close to a dozen children conceived by his father. Was he upset by this? No, not at all; he turned out to be the first child.

You'd think that a nineteen year old prince who's over six feet tall shouldn't have to worry about something being taken away from him, but that's exactly what Kassim does. He's extremely protective, albeit a good deal possessive, of the things and people he cares for. Since he was a child, he's always been reluctant to share. He'd watch over his toys and books like he was guarding some sort of treasure that could only be given to those he deemed worthy. His siblings, especially the youngest ones, have always been those he's watched out for. He's much like a hawk around them, or some sort of animal that wouldn't allow anything deemed as a threat close. He almost lost one of them once, which would explain why he's not so eager to let them wander off into harm's way.

The years have shown Kassim to be quite the artist. He's grown to display a proficiency in sculpting and painting, and he thinks this is probably his mother's fault. She, before she married the king, was an artist herself. She liked to capture the world around her, and her son just so happened to pick up that same habit. Well, in a manner of speaking, at least. Kassim could say that his bedmates often got more than a little annoyed when he'd trace things on their backs and legs. But, aside from that, it's probably one of the few things that got him into Vanderbilt. Not like he's complaining.

Zara loves patterns, and spotting discrepancies between statements and could almost be described as a hobby, making it a bad idea to lie to an her. This makes it ironic that Zara's word should always be taken with a grain of salt - it's not that she's dishonest, but people like her tend to share thoughts that are not fully developed, using others as a sounding board for ideas and theories in a debate against themselves rather than as actual conversation partners. Zara may appear unreliable, but in reality no one is more enthusiastic and capable of spotting a problem, drilling through the endless factors and details that encompass the issue and developing a unique and viable solution than her - just don't expect punctual progress reports. Zara isn't interested in practical, day-to-day activities and maintenance, but when she finds an environment where her creative genius and potential can be expressed, there is no limit to the time and energy she will expend in developing an insightful and unbiased solution.
Zara may appear to drift about in an unending daydream, but her thought process is unceasing, and her mind buzzes with ideas from the moment she wakes up. History:
Fiona's mother was a world renown engineer. She was wanted by many businesses for her heavy machinery expertise. Of course, her mother refused because she had Fiona to take care of and a home she couldn't leave. But all that changed when Fiona's father divorced. After that, fiona's mother lost the will to live and committed suicide, not caring to think how her 11 year old daughter would feel. Fiona then went from being a day student at the Vanderblit Academy for the Elite to being a resident there.

She grew up in Stockbridge, Massachusetts with both of her parents until her mother died of sickness when she was 8. Her father is very wealthy and reclusive, so she spends the majority of her time alone. She has an older brother named Jeremy who lives in Hampstead, England, and is a writer. She started Ballet when she was 3 and only continued to do it because her mother loved to watch her dance. She started playing instruments after her mother died so her house wouldn't be so quiet all the time. Despite the obstacles she has faced, she is a very optimistic and loving person. She is one of those people who's world can be falling apart and you wouldn't even know.

[ n ] o one has ever said that Ramone isn't pretty. In fact, people say it far too often. He's grown up with having compliments thrown at him because people happen to think he's the opposite gender, but it's usually rectified when he opens his mouth to speak. His voice, while nice and melodic, is just a touch too deep to belong to a female. However, Ramone has never really let this go to his head. If anything, he hates the way he looks. He'd try to change it in a heart beat, but he can't do more than cut his hair and attempt to dress more masculinely. His mother, on the other hand, has always been satisfied with the biological mishap. She wanted a son and a daughter, and look what she go; two in one. So, while he says he hates it, he can't stop old habits.

Ramone is quiet, but not shy. He's a little new to the world outside of his little sphere of Mother and home. His mother decided that homeschooling him would be for the best, but he suspects she just wanted an excuse to dress him up all day. That, or actually did have some of care for him other than in his appearance. So, while he's well aware of certain things, much of the world is blank canvas that he'd like to fill up. Coming to Vanderbilt was supposed to be his way of seeing the world.

Crowds have never been his thing. He has a tendency to freak out when he gets surrounded. Ramone tends to avoid that at all cost, and would prefer that people keep their space. Which, most people seem to find as being difficult, and he really would like not to have his personal bubble invaded.
