Oprah's Book Club (Official) discussion

Hi! My name is Diane McKeithen, and I'm new to the book club. I was curious about whether or not books by self-published authors are ever chosen. Also, is there any way to recommend books for Oprah and members to consider for the group to read. I know you can't self-promote, so I am trying to be careful how I say this, but I was curious if this could be done. Thanks!

You definitely have to have a plan because I tried to get their attention and they didn't have the decency to get back to me. Your idea sounds promising but I don't have an answer.
