What's the Name of That Book??? discussion

I read a series of romantic comedies. There was a recurring character, an older woman I think named Elsie. She was always encouraging the main character in each story to try new things. Elsie also drove a older, very large car, maybe a Cadillac, very recklessly. One of the stories featured a young woman who I think played in an orchestra. The story was about her meeting a guy after a camera fell off the helicopter he was in and a piece of it crashed through the roof of her apartment and landed on her bed ruining a quilt that was special to her.

Sounds like the Elsie Hawkins series by Janet Evanovich.
