Kathy Golden | 10 comments I wrote this article to help authors make sure they are taking advantage of all possible opportunities to post links to their books so readers can easily access those books. If your book's not linked in all these places, you're missing opportunities for it to be discovered.

Jay A. Lee (Jay_A_Lee) | 5 comments Mates: From the Beginning by Jay A. Lee, can be purchased at http://bookstore.xlibris.com/Products...

Premise:

In the year 2262 AD there were five inhabited celestial bodies. The Earth and it’s moon as well as Mars and it’s two moons. There were also several space stations in orbit around these celestial bodies. Several more space stations were scattered around the solar system. A central government had been formed to attempt to control all of the other smaller governments, it was called the Council of governments. The Council of Governments had a private mercenary service to enforce their laws, they were called the Silver fox organization. When George and Diane decided they wanted to have children, they decided to design them rather than go natural—a secret they barely managed to keep from the solar system government. They ended up developing an entirely new species that would change history and space forever. In Mates: From the Beginning, young Adam and Eve are forever under suspicion by the government due to their odd appearances and staggering intelligence. Choosing to fake their deaths and complete their genetic modifications away from prying eyes, Adam and Eve return as “aliens” to help the governments they once hid from.

The book was a 2014 Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award quarter-finalist and consistently receives five out of five star reviews on Amazon and Good Reads. Here’s a synopsis of the story:

A dead U.S. Marine washed ashore on a Caribbean island has a flying saucer and the letters “JFK” tattooed on his chest. With Vietnam War-era dog tags as the corpse’s only identity, local police contact the U.S. Navy. Some in Washington are uneasy about retired Gunnery Sergeant Roger Baskins’ death and tats.

The repose of maritime historian Thayer Harris, PhD, a tenured university professor in the U.S. Virgin Islands, is broken by the visit of a naval intelligence officer who hires Dr. Harris to secretly investigate the death of Gunny Baskins. He uncovers a 60-year record of UFO activity in the Caribbean basin in the process. His discoveries of phenomenal events during the Cuban Missile Crisis, on Grenada and in other times and places raise questions the professor can’t answer.

With Dr. Harris’ sleuthing nearly complete, the true adventure begins with a dramatic phenomenal encounter at sea. Following his subsequent Naval Intelligence debriefing in Washington, DC, Dr. Harris is targeted by other security agencies and parties who want his information. A life and death confrontation unfolds in a tropic bay.

Drawing on such credible sources as U.S. Navy records, declassified British and Russian UFO reports, the testimony of Navy personnel and the first Prime Minister of Grenada, “Undocumented Visitors in a Pirate Sea” weaves a thrilling fictional tale out of historical and scientific threads.

Nice article! Thanks for pointing out what should be obvious, but is obviously often overlooked!
