This is my first year here, and I'm also kind of in awe with how kind and generous everyone truly is. I'm really thankful I was invited this holiday season, to share my love of books (and book shopping haha) with all of you.

Boggartbub, you are all wool and a yard wide, you fleecy lambkin you! I got the Smashwords Wake Up Call ! I am eager to get started...as soon as my space is my own again. Workmen plastering up holes in walls and ceilings...not conducive to reading.

It's probably going to be just two more days...one more plastering, one to paint...but it means I have to sit for hours. Walking and lying down are the two states I'm most comfortable due to my joint issues. It just feels flippin' forever!!

Okay, enough negativity, this day also brought packages from friends replacing the two precious books that didn't survive (out of only seven! wow...could've been hundreds!), as well as a surprise visit from my Young Gentleman Caller! I am a lucky old man.

Today my boss dropped the news on us that the business is closing. Just in time for the holidays. The thought of going through the job search/interview process is overwhelming me right now so it was very nice (and unexpected - wow, two audiobooks!!) to have another gift from my Secret Santa! This time I received The Last Sun . I am very much looking forward to it!

Everyone goes through hard things in life, and hardships come in all shapes and sizes. Losing a job is never easy!! I don’t like to think I have things better or worse than anyone cause you honestly never know what someone is going through ❤️ Never feel bad for expressing your feelings! I was laid off from my job of 16 years last January, so I know how you feel and I agree with everybody else, it IS a big deal. But you'll find something else, and it will be better. :)
