Can Jesse Russell be considered as an author ?

If his works include reprints of out-of-copyright items like Tom Swift, he should be listed as publisher, not author, on those. However, for the items which are about the named books or movies (e.g. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/1...) he (and others like him) are correctly listed as the editors.
Remember, Goodreads is trying to be a database of all published books. Caveat emptor still applies.

I agree with the idea that GR should be about all books published, but we are spending time to correct information related to legal books, why should we have some forgiveness for books published by crooks ?
As for asupposed book edited by Mr Russell and Mr Cohn on the film Crazy, Stupid, Love, I am really sceptical. Are you sure that it does not have some relations with this one https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3... or this one

As for publishers currently identified in GR, I just realise that there is a long thread about the topic and I understand that there is a lot of work to be done.

His description on GR is as follow :
"Bookvika Publishing, VSD, Book on Demand Ltd — automated print-on-demand books, content entirely sourced from WIKIPEDIA.
Editor of Wikipedia article books.

If Jesse Russell is a publishing company (specialised in printing on demand books from Wikipedia or copies of books such as the Tom Swift), I do not think he can be considered as an author.
