Bill Patterson (billpatterson) | 20 comments I am (in order) one of three editors, the publisher, and author/contributor to a time-limited, free for download, non-ISBN/ASIN anthology. One of the contributors asked if the book was in GR, so that readers could discuss the Anthology. The Anthology is distributed by BookFunnel until the end of the year. We may publish a paperback through Amazon, but that is not live yet. I have questions. If there's a FAQ that covers these, please point me to it. Thanks in advance

Questions:
1. Can this book be listed on GR?
2. Is the lack of availability after 12/31 a hindrance?
3. I am not the main editor of this volume, but I am the US publisher. May I still request a listing?
4. There are several authors/contributors to the work. Some are debut authors with no GR profile. How do I request a link between the Anthology and all authors so that all authors can see questions and discussions about the book in their profiles?

I know you, as librarians, are volunteers and very busy. I appreciate your time working with me on this. BTW, I got to meet with some GR reps at a conference I just returned from--the reps were great!

1.
When it comes to ebooks distributed via Bookfunnel I don't think they meets Goodreads critera of a valid book record, since it requires the reader to submit their email address in order to download the ebook file.

Goodreads Help, section non-valid book records: "Stories only available {...] via a website that requires registration"

However, applying Goodread rules of what constitutes of a valid book record, the planned paperback would make a good fit even if you only have partial information about it at the moment.

2.
No. Goodreads has many book records of editions that are out-of-print.

3.
Yes, any Goodreads member can request a book to be added.

4.
Author pages are automatically generated as soon as their names are listed on a book record. Once they exist, they can be claimed by applying to the Goodreads Author Program. If the anthology ends up incorrectly linked to another same-name author as one of your contributors, Librarians can help to separate the anthology out for that name.

Here's a step by step guide how to request book data to be added to the site: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
