Looks good Kay!
You have lots of series with only 1 or 2 books left. Should be a good catch up year!

I do. They’re the ones I am working on first. I’ve decided to do monthly themes this year and my January theme is series I’ve started so we will see how that goes.

I've finished Children of Virtue and Vengeance (Legacy of Orïsha, #2) by Tomi Adeyemi it was absolutely incredible. I am so in love with this series and I am dying to get my hands on book 3 but it doesn't even release until 2021 *sobs*

I'm about to start Wild Savage Stars (Sweet Black Waves, #2) by Kristina Pérez

Glad to hear you loved it! Great start to the year. That's a hard wait for the next book!

message 14: by HeatherH (new)

HeatherH (bkwrm85) | 802 comments I also need to read the second book to Wintersong! We have a few other series in common that are unfinished but they are ones I'm going to have to restart as it has been long enough I don't remember them well enough to just jump back into the unread ones.

Also.. currently reading Children of Virtue and Vengeance and I am so with you on this series.. I was blown away by the first one and loving book 2 so far!

Sonnie (sonnie2006) Good luck Kay! You got this! How are you liking Wild Savage Stars? I know you said the first book was good!

Oh no Laura. What is it you’re not liking?

Sonnie it was amazing. I’ve just finished it and I absolutely loved it. I can’t wait for book 3.

Finished Wild Savage Stars (Sweet Black Waves, #2) by Kristina Pérez and it was amazing. I can’t wait for book 3 which releases in August so not too long to wait.
And it’s another series I’m caught up on. Woop.

Next up Shadowsong (Wintersong, #2) by S. Jae-Jones

I finished it and I just didn't really gel with the characters in this one - it all felt a bit rushed but also drawn out at the same time (I know it's a contradiction but it's the best way I can think to describe it)

message 20: by Brittany (new)

Brittany | 6451 comments Mod
Yay for it not being too long of a wait for book 3 and for being caught up on another series Kay.

And my goodness is that cover for Shadowsong ever pretty!

Hey guys,
Sorry I’ve been so AWOL for the past few weeks. Things have been so manic at work I haven’t even had time to read a page for the past few weeks until today. I’m aiming to me back at it and active from now hopefully.

I finished another series. I read Shadowsong but was actually really disappointed in it. There’s another one scratched off the TBR though.

I was super sad as I really loved the first book. Oh well, we can't love them all can we?

Up next I'll finally be finishing off the Snow Like Ashes series. I'm starting Frost Like Night (Snow Like Ashes, #3) by Sara Raasch next

February is going to be focussed on my subscription box books

I've just read two novellas that are part of the series I'm trying to finish. So although it may be cheating, I'm totally counting them.

Icicles Like Kindling (Snow Like Ashes, #0.1) by Sara Raasch and Flames Like Vines (Snow Like Ashes, #2.1) by Sara Raasch I gave both of them three stars.

I'm currently reading Frost Like Night (Snow Like Ashes, #3) by Sara Raasch

I've just culled my bookshelves (again) and my TBR is now under 280. I refuse to let it get above that again. It currently sits at 274 to read. This year I am determined to get my TBR down.

I had so many books on my shelves that have been there for 5 years or more and I thought I need to just be brutal and accept I'm not going to read them as I seem to keep reading more recent books. Now the challenge to get it under 200 is on.

message 34: by Kayleigh {K-Books}, YA Fantasy Fan (new)

Kayleigh {K-Books} (kayley_12) | 2302 comments Mod
Updated all of my stats. I read 5 books in January, all were YA Fantasy and by female authors. I'm hoping to switch it up and read some different genres this month.

I've decided each month is going to have a 'theme' and I'll be selecting books from that these to make me tackle my TBR more. January was series that I haven't finished. February is going to be books that I got from Illumicrate and/or Fairyloot.

I've just started reading Light Years (Light Years, #1) by Kass Morgan

That's a great idea, Kay! I tend to do that too sometimes, but unplanned. Lol. Like right now I've been reading a lot of spooky-ish books with ghosts, witches, and other creepy stuff.

Good luck on getting your Illumicrate/Fairyloot books read this month! 😁

Nice, how is it so far?

message 37: by Sonnie (new)

Sonnie (sonnie2006) Good job on getting you TBR shelf down Kay! And I love the idea of themes for each month! I would never stick to it, but that's really cool!

I loved Light Years (Light Years, #1) by Kass Morgan it was great. I love a good sci-fi book and I'm dying for book 2 but I'm on a book buying ban. I'm adding it to my wishlist in the hope someone buys it for me for my birthday haha.

I've just finished reading Eight Will Fall by Sarah Harian and I've never had a more mixed reaction to a book. It was slow to start and then when it picked up I was loving it. It was so interesting and then I just got bored and ended up giving it 2 stars.

Last year I found that I was reading a lot of the same genre so I'm doing to try and get my reading different genres.

I've finished Blood Heir (Blood Heir, #1) by Amélie Wen Zhao and I was so pleasently surprised by it. I absolutely loved it and I can't wait for book 2 releasing in November.

I'm unsure what I'm going to read next. I'm planning on catching up on my reviews and blog before I start another one.

Omg Sonnie, I didn’t even think of that while reading but now you’ve said that YES! Of course it is. How stupid do I feel for not even realising that while I read it. 😂😂

@Laura sorry... but not really coz it’s amazing and everyone should read it.

I’ve finished reading Wonder Woman Warbringer (DC Icons, #1) by Leigh Bardugo and although it was slow to start with I ended up really enjoying it. I don’t plan on reading all the books in this series just the ones by the authors I’ve read and liked.

I’ve just started reading Kingdom of Souls (Kingdom of Souls, #1) by Rena Barron
