Travis Just a thread for amusing one-off topics and references.

In chapter 17 a YT-1000 freighter is pulled out of hyperspace. The model is obviously a nod to the Millennium Falcon, which made me wonder for just a second if it was actually going to be Han. Then in chapter 18 we learn the YT-1000 freighter is named Reticent which means "not revealing one's thoughts or feelings readily." That certainly applies to this freighter and its crew!

While interrogating the Reticent's crew in chapter 18, Darth Vader states "You are not an itinerant merchant, Captain. You are in league with a group of dissidents intent on destroying military installations as a means of undermining the sovereignty of the Empire." This really reminded me of Vader's conversation with Leia at the beginning of A New Hope: "You're a part of the Rebel Alliance...and a traitor. Take her away!"

I like the reference to Admiral Trench. I also found it interesting that The Clone Wars established a new name for the Mon Calamari planet and species (Mon Cala) but this book has already reverted back to calling them Mon Cals and Dac
