Robin | 7 comments so Christmas is coming and I really have no idea what to ask, so I figured you can't go wrong with books... right?

I hesitate between some series:
- the witcher books (read the last wish, loved it, but blood of elves had some bad reviews)
- A song of fire and ice (read game of thrones, I really liked it, but I don't know what the other books will be like)
- mistborn trilogy (seen a lot of positive reviews)
- the farseer trilogie/the wild reign trilogie (i read the assassin's apprentice, I kinda liked it, but it is so slow! and the idea of talking dragons is kind of a letdown for me)

if you have any other suggestions please tell me (I love Dan Brown books, so anything like that is great)

Bryan | 5 comments The Mistborn books are phenomenal! A must-read for fantasy fans. I highly doubt you would regret reading those.

Bryan | 5 comments Any Brandon Sanderson book for that matter, would be worth the read

Ashley Carter | 1 comments Definitely Mistborn! Then the rest of sandersons work.

Manda | 115 comments ASOIAF, Mistborn, and Farseer are all great but ASOIAF is my favorite of those three.

Jeremy R | 6 comments I know it's a bit late, but the Farseer trilogy really picks up after book 1, which is pretty much a setup for the others. Hobb's Tawny Man trilogy (follow up to Farseer) and liveship traders are also great, and she is currently writing a third trilogy about Fitz. Fitz is probably my favorite character. Mistborn is fun, but not as well written as Hobb's work, and sometimes it seems almost juvenile in its prose. Sanderson writes great plot though, and if you're really looking for a book by him read The Way of Kings. Haven't read A Song of Ice and Fire, so I can't vouch for those, but I have read the First Law Trilogy (which I have heard is very similar to aSoIaF), and love those. If you like Malazan you might want to pick up Blood Song as well.
