A few of us are going to be reading the first book, City of Bones of the Mortal Instruments Series. We will be starting January 11th, 2015!
Anyone who wants to join in, is more than welcome of course :-)

Add me in. I've read it before but it's a good easy read and I can put it into my year long challenge. I haven't don't the whole series yet.

I've been looking at the author's page, and City of Bones was published in 2007, whereas Clockwork Angel was 2011. I think you're safe to read City first. Infernal Devices is a Prequel series, and as such doesn't need to be read first.

I am almost done with my current audio. I should get it down while running errand today. I should get a bit listened today.

I am going to have to bail out. The ebook is not available and I found out the audio was not in original English. (I am not reading translations when I can help it, I am not about stating listening to them, no matter how mush I could use the practice)

I haven't started just yet but I shall be later today.

I'm up to chapter 8 and it is interesting to see the differences between the book and the movie.

I've just started and read up to Chapter 5 now =] Have some of you read this book before, or is it totally new to most of you? I read it once before and book 2 but forgot mostly of what happened so decided to read again. It's pretty different to the film so far.

The is a first read for me :) I agree it is different then the movie so far! I am really liking it though. Kind of a cross between Harry Potter/twilight/Percy Jackson :)

Hehe, me too =] I agree, I'd say the same a cross between HP/Twilight and reminds me of the Fallen series a little what with (view spoiler)[Demons and Vampires and magic etc (hide spoiler)]. Not sure if you've read that by Lauren Kate? I still haven't read Percy Jackson, I will be reading that after this I think =] Have you read all of them?

I haven't read Lauren Kate. I have only read the first Percy Jackson and seen the first two movies (not sure if there are more movies?). I liked both movies even though things were different in the first movie, as always, than in the book :) not too much was changed though so I'm excited to read the second book since I have already seen the movie :)

Lauren Kate's books are ok. If you like Twilight then you may well like the Fallen series. It's not as good and the writing isn't great but I liked the general storyline.

I have seen bits and pieces of the Percy Jackson film, I really want to watch them, but think I'd prefer to read the books first. But then again, I think it was you that stated it Stephanie; that if you watch the film first you're bound not to be too disappointed cuz you haven't read the book yet =P

Definitely, Sarah! I have learned that if I watch the movie before reading the book then I'm not as disappointed in the movie :-)

I haven't seen the movie, but was told that Lily Collins plays Clary...I am having a hard time picturing her as the character, but I continue on nonetheless! ;)
I am in Chapter 14 and I am enjoying it. It's interesting the different types of beings, so I am wondering what the movie will show regarding that. (view spoiler)[ like Magnus Bane and his big cat eyes...creepy! I can definitely see the relationship between Jace & Clary growing. Simon as a rat, I liked that too...I mean I thought it was pretty mean of her to put him in her backpack anyway, he'd die in there from all the movement probably! (hide spoiler)]
