Nicolas Tavares | 7 comments Firstly, thank you all for taking the time in helping me find this particular book, it's greatly appreciated- I'm hoping to one day find this book so I can (also hopefully) give it personally to my dearest friend as he always speaks fondly of it.

Information:
From what he tells me; there's a King who's a female and a Queen who's the male. The Queen has a chariot that doesn't actually go anywhere. The Queen gets tired of being ruled over by the King, so he uses his powers (as in, magical powers) to swap places with a boy in the 'real world'. I think this boy happens to be a slave also.

In time, the rogue Queen begins to lose his powers and the boy he swapped bodies with begins to regain them.

Note:
This is all he recalls of it. Anything closely resembling this would be fantastic as I understand it's quite scarce in information (apologies for that). Thank you, again; for your time, and Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays everyone.

When did your friend read this book? And was it children's, YA or Adult (and adult in this group means age of reader, not XXX)

Nicolas Tavares | 7 comments Unfortunately, all he recalls was that he was a lot younger when he read it (Early Teen years so give or take 10 years ago, I'd assume). As for target; I'd guess young adult.

He also recalls a phoenix, but this was a minor detail in the plot like the chariot.

Nicolas, we've barely had any time to search for it. Sometimes it takes a while, but don't give up. I just had one found after 18 months, and it was one I'd actually never expected to get found, so I was thrilled with finding it that quickly. And I remember shelving a book that we had finally ID'ed after 5 years. But I've also shelved books found after only a few hours (or even minutes in a few cases.) Sometimes it just takes a while.

If you come back in every 30 to 60 days and bump this back up to the top of the queue (just type "bump" into the comment box) you will also have a better chance at getting it found quicker.

Karly (karlyclark) | 4 comments Could it be part of the Xanth series? They can have female Kings.

message 10: by Nicolas (new)

Nicolas Tavares | 7 comments That was a very good suggestion, I had high hopes on it after doing some reading of it on wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xanth

Unfortunately, after he had a look through all of it; he said it wasn't one of those books. Thank you, though! It at least piqued my curiosity as a new book to read :)

Born a slave, Dekteon knows his life's course is grimly predictable. But, while escaping his Lord's hounds, he finds himself drawn into a strange world. There he meets Zaister, the consort of the Moon King, who, like all royal consorts, is destined by tradition to die an early death. To save himself, he has used his magic powers to draw Dekteon to him, and change their identities - Zaister becomes Dekteon, and Dekteon, Zaister. Despite being in Zaister's body, Dekteon retains much of his own personality, and, slowly, begins to win the heart of Izvire, the woman Moon King. Just before her husband is due to be killed, Izvire schemes to save him, at great risk... But Dekteon knows that if he permits this to happen, Zaister, in his own body, will be condemned to the fate of a slave. And so he hatches a plan which will save them both...
