Luke Marsden (lukefdmarsden) | 13 comments Hi all,

I mentioned the site SimilarWeb in an earlier thread in this folder, but it has been so valuable in deciding where to focus my efforts to publicize my first book that I thought it deserves its own discussion.

It is essentially a tool that gives you a measure of the number of monthly hits and their geographical distribution for just about any site on the web (sites with very low traffic will sometimes not appear, or will have no data). The first thing I do when I am considering devoting attention to a site for marketing purposes is pull up its stats on SimilarWeb - it provides enough data in most cases to make an instant yes/no decision, although volume/origin of traffic will not always be the determining factor.

Any hidden gems/false bonanzas that people have discovered using this site?
